Black Mk1 Caddy Pick Up.

Hey folks! 1987 Caddy 1.6 diesel for sale - super cool slow and low satin black rabbit - I love this car but it has to go - hopefully someone will get a bargain here...

Good Points...

MOT till the end of the month (Oct). Taxed to the end of April (worth £100).

Lowered all round - flipped rear axle, GTI shocks and springs up front.

Sony CD / MP3 / WMA stereo - input for iPod etc.

In the last 3 to 6 months -

new speedo cable

new air filter

oil change and filter

new door handles

new mirrors

new chin spoiler

gearbox oil change

Freshly powdercoated VW steels with Pirelli P6000's all round (185/65/R14)

In the last 12 months-

new pads and discs

glowplugs

battery

pressed plates

2 sets of keys

Starts first time every time, pulls well through the gears - electrics all good. I always keep under 60mph. Very solid - originally this was vw maroon ( factory paint is always a good undercoat!) then painted vw blue, then satin black ( rat style) basically hardly any rust - just a couple of spots behind the rear screen - bed is good, sills good, underneath and body good - lots of bumps and dents of course... Ill even throw in a Bentleys guide which are pretty rare and took some tracking down - cost me £25...

Bad points...

Needs a good service - gets hot in traffic - probably due to thermostat or fan. Heat exchange has been bypassed because it was leaking water - will need to be looked at. Accelerator pedal needs attention where it connects to cable - needs the attaching grommit - has a temporary repair at the mo. Drivers door sags a little ( as they do).... Not a really bad point as these engines are very tough but high miles - 171800 - no real service history - previous owner VW enthusiast working for a vw shop and before him a another enthusiast - apparently with a garage - has had money spent on it in the last few years...

Basically the caddy needs some tlc and a couple of weekends spending on it - this is of course a vintage car 20 years old! It has been very reliable and it will be sorely missed but financial priorities mean it has to go - I've checked various prices of caddys for sale - some with, some without mots / tax etc so I reckon this is priced pretty good - hope it can can go to a good home!

Hi, i'm a little confused, in your ad at the beginning it says the caddy is taxed until the end of april?

Yet your offering a price for it without tax?
