hi can anyone help? i have just removed a bolt that i now understand supports the reverse gear shaft,(thought it was the gearbox oil filler). i now cant get the bolt back in as something has moved inside, is there a simple solution or is it as bad as i fear!

i have read else were this is not an uncommon balls up, i just can't seem to find any sort of suggestion as to what to do about it.

It's going to have to be opened up i'm afraid. Take it to a transmission specialist and get it reconditioned at the same time.
