winter tires.what size?

I have standard 13'' steel rims on my mk2 1.0l breadvan, and i need little help to choose proper size of winter tires.Is it better to put wider tires or not? any suggestions are welcome. thanks.

You mean as in proper winter tyres like people used to fit back in the day?

I would suggest quite a narrow tyre still. And deflate it to around 18-20psi when conditions are bad. Go as low as 15 if you are going out in proper snow.

Narrower tyres tend to cut through the snow quite well. wider tyres tend to spread your weight around, good for floatation, but not for traction.

I've just had a look and it seems that proper winter tyres are quite hard to come by these days.

These look ok but not as agressive as I would want lol.

well, not agressive but the tire which could suit for various winter weather-rain, snow, ice...etc.i will stick with narrow ones.thanks mate.
