there 16"'s mate and I'm hoping to leave the suspension as it is with the rear adjuster out and front all the way down, I'm on 14" standards atm and now I've put front fully down I've got barely any gap, so with 16"'should fill it.

One of my fav wheels set! Nice choice mate, it's gonna look phat! 8-)

looking sweet,

Any progress!?

If you ain't done soon i'll be nicking them and trying them on my own 9n3!

lol no luck, unfortunately service is booked next thursday with vw which is gonna take a good chunk out of my savings, if i can find someone selling to for a reasonable price, i would be able to get the other two and get them on, but i cant afford retail for the other two and then tyres until a while caus of how much money i have at the min.

dear lord this is depressing as hell, sorry about the lack of updates, just lack of hours at work recently, should be getting more hours soon then ill get the other 2 modern lines.

My 18th next friday so some money towards schmidts hopefully :D bought new tyres just payed for my service today so all is done now, time to start saving for the alloys. LOL i was talking to the vw service man. and this other vw guy walked through like just passing through and shouted "decked to the floor haha" made my day xD

Might be a little while but hopefully not too long till i get the schmidts on, cant wait :D but as they say great things come to those who wait :D

cheers mate :D wont be long now till wheels are on :p gettin killer shifts at work so all good in the hood, then its gonna be a suprise whats happening after the wheels, at this rate gonna be well ready for edition :

oh dunno if anyone could help me decide, but I'm stuck on whether to get front debadged grill and keep rear badge on, or smooth rear end, and keep front grill badged????

Edited by Green_Crayon

Yeah hopefuly mine will be too!

I'd go for smooth back end, keep the front badge.

what wheels you got fella? and i do love the smoothed rear end, but after seeing the debadged front and smoothed plate i also love that, but it would be stupid to have both.

None ATM, only had the car for just over a month, so just got it on coilovers last week, now deciding on wheels. I always wanted borbet A' but I ain't sure now. Yeahh, I like the front end tho!

ah r8 nice gotta love the mk7 :D what litre you got? erm yeah I've seen a mk7 on borbet a, i was originally gonna get some but after seeing a video, and tons of pictures I've decided they dont suit the car at all. If you look further back through this thread i bought some tt comps, i was gonna put them on, but my mate has a 9n n they dont really offer the euro look I'm wanting.

You do indeed! It's Gota be the best polo, by far! 1.2 match I'm only 17 so insurance... Yeahh there's too much choice, I'm considering Porsche twists, but I want a dish too.

got a question mate, I'm also 17 well 18 on friday mines 1.2 and I'm paying insane monies for insurance, how much you pay for a year, I'm alowed to mods for free, unless its major modification to the performance. yeah Porsche twists can look nice on the right car seen them on mk7 they look nice.

The car is looking really nice, I can't wait to see it with the new wheels on. :)

If you're looking for insurance, a mate of mine uses a company called 'Brentacre Insurance' (www.brentacre.co.uk), he's 20, drives a modified Lupo GTi, lives in south Birmingham and has previously written off a modified Golf mk2. He's paying £1900 for possibly fully-comp insurance, and apparently it was £1100 before the write off. Like your insurance, they allow any mods up to a certain BHP.

Hope this helps. :)

Dave

p.s. I'm a fellow 1.2 driver - (soon to be) low and slow :)

nice cheers fella

I'm on my dads company insurance, but I'm with NFU I pay around 1200 for the tear on a young driver policy, it's maybe worth giving them a ring. Yeah I saw some on a mk6 some gold ones, it looked okay! I'd prefer to not have to mess with adapters tho.

  • Author

I'm on nfu fully comp, becuase my parents have 3 cars its maxed out, so i had no choice but to go on fully comp, it was costin me 3500 but got it down to 3000 by doing pass plus

Yeah I'm on fully comp, not worth it with the excess tho! Oh bloody hell, I'd rather walk haha
