okay I'm sorry but after reading so many topics in this section about engine conversions and different peoples opinions, i got confused!

So i got a 1.0 mk3 Loon and just got a GT to put in,

I shall change the v5, cubic capacity and engine number, yes?

Call my insurance, tell them my reg and they should insure it as what it is? A 1.3, Should be legal?

Or i call them with no changes on v5, tell them my reg, still being 1.0, and then say GT conversion, and be legal that way also?

Aren't they the same? Just telling them the conversion way it more expensive? Please shed some light! I'm confuzzled :(

First way is more legal, as the dvla will know of the conversion too :)

The insurance company will obviously need to know that the car is engine swapped but they will not need to know if the DVLA are informed.

The DVLA need to be informed as well though, you can change the CC/ engine number on the V5 document, at the worst you'll need an engineers report.
