Haha, thanks mate, but there's much more to Holland then just drugs and hookers cheap alcohol, drinking from 16+ ages, no dodgy MOT-regulations (just simple APK-rules ) and best but not least, no raise in your car-insurance when modding your ride how cool is that :p Oh, and I live just 20 minutes drive towards the German Autobahn -> who wouldn't like that?

Anyway, been quit some time, but haven't sat still with the mk4 project of course. Started on my new bumpers, going for the original OEM 16v ones, but cleaned/smoothed.

Already plastic-welded the rear tow-eye:

And during progress (with a mate of mine in the back, together we've got around 9 16v bumpers lying in there, just to get it all done the way we want talking about waisting resources

I'll get some pics of the front one the next time I'm going over to work on it again

I want leather golf 3 seats too! And retrimmed interior. But with a funky B&W fabric!

Also, how did you wire the door cards? Did you use proper plugs? I installed elec. mirrors on my 6n and just threaded the wires through the small holes in the plastic plugs. Not the best solution!

I saw the climatronic vid on youtube, and if my Polo had that(and if it stopped whistling and wasn't so slow) I'd keep it :p.

@ MehMan: yes, all is installed using the original VW parts and tubes etc. costet a fortune to buy brandnew at the local VW dealership, but it's worth the look in the end!

don't know if people hear knew, but I drive a mk2 Polo as a daily driver, lowered 70-40 on yellow Koni's with KW spring, polybushed etc. not much to look at, but a straight laugh to drive around in and looking people watch

So what does one do with the upcoming winter & christmas? Yes, one add decorative balls for christmas

Oh, and did some work on the mk4's front bumper as well today:

Just need to get that plastic welded in upcoming week, been busy all day long just to get that red part to fit 90% perfect

Thanks, but no, no swap, although I have to say I am a fan of yours, just love the looks of that matt-olive-green!

And yes, its from a "donor" rear bumper, me and a mate are smoothing out several bumpers at the moment, as we are both unsure which look we want to achieve (don't know which parts to and not to smooth, so doing difference "smoothings" on multiple bumpers just in case), so at the moment there's like 12 to 14 bumpers lying around there, all either hacked up, or smoothed

Well, that S4-bumper is for sale at the moment, as I'll be putting on the OEM mk4 one with the smoothed reces and tow-lid-cap

i thought of doing this on my old 6n, so glad I didnt though! No doubt its easier than smoothing the grill holes though!!

Up-dating time (finally), as I've come to start of with the engine build, has taken some changes along the way, but should prove more nicely then planned.

Some steps taken:

-bottom-end was brought over to the refurbisher (if that's the correct elgish word for it ) to get the bore redone and all parts cleaned/flushed (bottom-end, crank, pistons etc.)

-new bearings (crank-main, piston, axials) and pistonrings are purchased

-the new brake set-up (Polo GTI hubs with G60 brackets for 280mm up front, and Golf mk3 16v calipers with mk2 discs on the back) completely cleaned out, got some maintenance and is now waiting to get sandblasted in order to get resprayed in black (stealthy look)

-and ordered a set of Goodridge braided hoses for the brakes:

-also ordered a aluminum pulley kit to lighten the rotating parts on the engine:

-and ordered me a brandnew, stronger Sachs clutch-kit, with light flywheel to get that lighter thing going ^_^

I'll try to get some decent shots next time I post up again, kind of failed shooting pics along the way :unsure:

Make a quick start sand-blasting the new brake-parts, on the left a caliper-holder waiting to get blasted away, on the right one that's nearly finished, some minor spots left, but at least it's identifiable as a Lucas-part though

All brake-parts are sandblasted, degreased and sprayed them this morning:

And pushed in the new front wheel-bearings:

Hubs done, with the bearings and all in, I'll put on the Zimmermann drilled G60 discs and Ferodo DS Performance pads this week:

Just fancied the black, dark, non-suspicious colour, no shouting colour, just OEM-looking, stealthish for a mk4 Polo B)

Just Ebay on "pulley kit vw" and you'll find plenty of them! Some advertisers claim they're just for 2.0 8v's, or 1.8 20vT's, but they'll fit a regular ol' mk4 engine too
