Got the engine back from it's cleaning, re-bored the piston-holes, cleaned/flushed everything out, checked all bearing-insert, all is a 101% again B)

So it's again up for re-assembly

Quickly assembled to front brakes, have to admit it's quit a lot bigger then the original 8v discs :-D

Also my Goodridge braided hosing set came in yesterday.

And had some bits, bobs and bolts treated together with the stuff of a mate of mine, here's an overview of our bits and pieces after treatment:

And got my pulley kit in yesterday:

Difference in diameter of the crank pulley is over 1,5cm

The alu pulley even fits INSIDE the original one!:

And it fits perfectly tight over/on the crank-timingbelt-gear:

Felt like weighing it too, the original mk4 8v pulley comes in at a 508gram:

And the aluminum pulley weighs just 256gram!:

So less rotating mass, and due to the smaller diameter less rotating-resistance by the alternator :-D

Picked up my "new" front and rear bumper last night, nothing "spectacular" when it comes to polyfibre bumpers (which seem to be hot at the moment here in The Netherlands :unsure: ) Just the regular ol' 16v one's, but with smoothed license plate and tow-eye up front, and a smoothed tow-eye on the rear :ph34r:

What some fooking about with a plastic-weld-machine and some hard work by my body-shop can do ay?

So it's just the good ol'fashion original OEM 16v VW one's, with a little bit of smoothing. Nothing stunning, but more stylish then any polyfibre bumper can ever be

Took off the rear air-suspension-struts today. I want to drive as low as possible on the rear upcoming year, already rolled the arches, am adding camber plates, fitting more streched tyres, less point on the list was to adjust the struts!

Stiffened them Koni's up almost to maximum

And who needs bumpstoppers anyway?

Gave the internals a check-up, cleaned some stuff, and resealed it all again properly, and refitted the struts of course:

Probably going to ride stiffer then me in the morning, but who cares, lowriding baby

Had a full weekend of car-related-time, which turned out to be spended wisely ^_^

Reassembled my airride fridaynight with the final parts (hoses and couplings) I finally got in last wednesday. All worked fine again, but improved B) put some wheels underneath, smacked on the bumpers and rear lights again, loaded it up with the parts to be used, and started at a friends garage on saturday morning, and spend all saturday and sunday there. Got all the suspension/braking items on the list done!

Rear axle taken off, blacked it again, pressed the Bonrath polybushings in:

Brand new parts from the VW-dealership to mount the rear disc-conversion:

New rear bearings in the new Zimmermann drilled discs, and mounted those on the axle:

And placed it back, with the Eibach anti-roll-bar on the rear again, Goodridge braided brakehoses, and derusted the metal brakelines on the rear axle, and blacked them nicely again:

Front Polo GTI hubs, with G60 brake set-up, again using Zimmermann drilled discs, Goodridge braided hoses etc.:

And a shot in between, gives a nice view on the new smoothed rear bumper and mk5 rear lights, one euro-spec one, and one UK-spec one, so both are all red:

Got the RS'es out today, and gave them a proper wash. Just need to polish the lips again, put on the new rear tires, re-align the car and they can go back on the mk4

Didn't think Eibach made rear ARB's for the 6n ?? Do you know if they are they still available for purchase ?

They did, but in a limited number, they were meant for several Polo Cup-racing leagues in Germany, Holland and some other countries. They're very rare, in 5 years I only came by 2 sets, and bought both sets immediately, prices were enormous, but they are totally worth it!

i just got a polo for my first car, and it has the bit of plastic removed and i dont think it looks that bad lol :-D
