Hi, thank you very much sir! Did you go to Worthersee in a Polo too? Got any picutres of it?

They did, but in a limited number, they were meant for several Polo Cup-racing leagues in Germany, Holland and some other countries. They're very rare, in 5 years I only came by 2 sets, and bought both sets immediately, prices were enormous, but they are totally worth it!

Not sure tbh mate. I got it from a breakers the was breaking an Ibiza Cupra. I didn't even know if there was an updated arb on it, I just took a gamble.

I had to fit drop links though but they came with it.

Lookin at the size of it I'd say it was prob a 28mm one cos it looks chuffin thick !

Sorry, didn't have any propper time to work on the mk4 last saturday due to working on RinDiesel's mk4 and prepping my mk2 for its APK (Dutch MOT) most of the day :(

Of course I'm not scrapping the car, but busy with both the engine swap and some bay-work, but it's not progressing as swift as I hoped, since both things have to be done simultaneously. Ah well, I don't need to use the mk4 during wintertime anyway, so it's fine by me that it takes longer then anticipated :p

Anyway, yes, I have a new daily driver, yet another Polo is in my reach. Couple of weeks back I bought me a dragongreen mk4 Polo, a 1.6 8v on gas. Since I started a new academic year at a new university this year, I have to drive about 120 kilometers each day in the week to get there. And doing that in the mk2 Polo just isn't doing it for me. Bit more comfort, and a lot less costs for the gas did the trick, I bought myself a mk4 Polo with a shattered gearbox :grin: swapped the box with a refurbed one I had laying around, had to weld a rusty-hole in the left rear wheeelarch, swap the cat for my mk4's old one, and hoping it passes its MOT soon, and Jarno's off in a green mk4 each day!

Not the prettiest, but it runs smoothly!

Also I couldn't resist picking up a set of polybushes for it! Wishbone-ones are already in the wishbones, so just need to swap the wishbones. Other polybushes in the set are for the front ARB, and the rear axle. I also got me a set of FK highsport coilovers straight away. And I still had an extra Eibach ARB for the rear axle, plus a FK adjustable, aluminum rear strutbrace laying around. So the suspension is getting its update I think sometime around Christmas :biggrin:

Also, there's some news on the grey mk4, had to adjust "some" parts of the chassislegs in the engine compartment to fit the new engine in I'll see if I can make some pics of that next time I'm around it again!

Been ages since I've posted an update on here, haven't been around the UK forums that much lately, trying to boost that a bit more again, spending less time on Dutch forums

Anyway, engine is out, been working a lot on the engine bay and underside of the car. While the exhaust was off, took the heatshields of, and got rid of all the little corrosion-spots and sprayed it all in black underbodyschutz again:

Also got rid of some stuff from under the bonnet that will be relocated or binned:

And after loads of sanding and chopping of that stuff VW used to shut the seams of body parts after welding (sorry, don't know the english word for it, in Holland we call it "strijkkit" or "kit"). In the booth ready for primer:

Back to sanding the primer for a "silky smooth result":

After painting it in its colour and clearcoat:

Did a lot on the new engine as well last couple of months, loom for the standalone motormanagement is all done, always nice to see mates work their ass of for you

Cleaned up and re-sprayed the brake-servo:

Finally got around to drill out the Bonrath poly-bushes to fit my Eibach "thick-as-f*ck" ARB:

And sourced me some more interior parts, like a Polo 6R lightswitch and a new steeringwheel (no pic of it yet):

Hoping to make it to Worthersee with the new engine in, going to work my ass off to make that happen B)

And last but not least, got me a new daily driver. Since petrol prices are sky-high nowadays in Holland (1,73 euro per liter, that's around 1,40 GBP per liter of petrol ) so got me a mk4 Polo on LPG (liquid petroleum gas), which is around 0,62 euro per liter

Mounted FK Highsport coilovers atraight away, a Eibach rear ARB, and a set of Polo GTI BBS'es with a white lip and orange centres:

Thanks Steve, the switch is a straight swap, I'll look on the box for the part-number next time I'm at the place where I work on the mk4

Could you take a pic of the light switch when you swapped it, please mate? Just want to see if its not too modern comparing to the dash love the amount of work you put in!
