Coupe S was called a GT in europe, VW UK decided to rebadge them on import for some reason. MH is the engine code for a late mk2 coupe s. Also in europe they made a carbed 75bhp version but the UK never got this one, probably because UK models couldn't have brake servos fitted.

ha ha so i got excited for no reason lol....although stictly speaking it is a GT lol,.... just putting a weber twin on it but now i need to find which air filter will fit cus the original wont go on...

anyone any ideas??

the new k & N pancakes look nice!!

pretty much all coupe s still had the GT sticker in the boot I think. Some managed to slip through retaining the GT badge on the front grill too. They are still 55bhp MH engines though. yeah it's a carbed engine, I just said that above to point out that the euro mk2 GT is still carbed and not the same multipoint injection engine as found in mk3 GTs

how come bro???

heres the carb i have

weber!!

AHHH the good old days, how I miss my Coupe S and Weber 32/34 DMTL.

The guy I sold it to had the jets changed and the air/fuel ratio mixture and acheived 67bhp over the standard 55bhp with miles better fuel economy. 8-)

PoloPete, he's got a dyno graph in the mk2 readers ride.

Don't bother with a panel filter or a bolt-on filter for your bog standard pierburg carb, won't increase the noise or make any difference to power gain.

pancakes will just cause freezing in winter /cool days...doesnt actualy have to be icey out for this to happen

well i got the weber on and shes a beaut! only thing is shes very thirsty but i haven't re-jetted her yet....

unfortunately i now have an oil leak and am in need of some new springs and shocks i think cus the front off side wheel camber is completely off and something is seriously bent or loose or wrong.....going on the ramp monday so should no more by then but,..

could any one give me a clue on what shocks and springs to get all round,...would like good handling but not soooo low that i cant drive into tescos over there speed bumps!

should be good on fuel...check out the weber thread for standard jets , i get up to 45mpg on mine

shcoks n springs...hmm dunno , phil j /ebay.de stuff is super hard , h&r is expensive ....depends what you want really

Apart from a few oddballs, which I think stems from dealers making their own Coupe S's.

Mines a Coupe S on the boot lid and logbook, but a Polo C on the data tag.
