Experience with HIC?

Featured Replies

I've had a read through the whole site, and they really do look like the first company I'd ever willingly insure my car with. I'm hopeful for a good price too on my almost standard 1043cc mk2. I'm 19 and I've never claimed, however I don't have any NCD as I've only ever been a named driver.

Anybody with HIC? Good experience? Or bad?

I'm with them but I've never had to make a claim so I don't know how good they are.

How ever a couple of months into my policy I wanted to add my brother. When I got the documents though the terms of the policy had changed. Windscreen excess had gone up from 60 to 75 and the wording had changed. Non of this was to do with adding my brother but the insurer (Highway) had change it and they wouldn't change it back.. HIC did offer to pay the 15 quid difference if I made a windscreen claim.

I'm going to change next year to Richard Egger Insurance and se how they are. they seem to offer better stuff to suit my needs.

Been with HIC for 2 years now and not had any issues cheapest company I've found!

Good thing aswell cover all mods and most of them are free :)

hic just now have quoted me £1500 fully comp and 984 tpft, thats on my 1.4 with only visual mods I'm 21 with 1 years ncb so it could be pricey like this! but I've heard there good (if the price is right of course)!

i've been with them for 2 and a half years now and don't have any intention of going any where else unless they can't offer me a good deal when i want to insure 2 cars next renewal time. they were the cheapest i could find when i first went to them but the last renewal could of been cheaper, i think it was because i just let it automatically renew rather than pushing them for a better deal so that's my own fault.

i've only had one claim and that wasn't my fault so i didn't really have to deal with HIC so can't really comment on them in that respect, although they do have there own breakdown cover which i have used before and that came in handy

Neither have worked for me! HIC quoted me £1900 which is far too much and Brentacre wouldn't give me a quote at all.

I'm in my 1st year insuring with them, and its costing me a little over 600 for a 2001 polo gti tpft with modifications included :) 3years no claims and was 20 at the time of insuring. They were by far the cheapest for me. And they said if you mod the car futher, just ring them up and tell them and they'l add it to my cover :)

I have insured with them not long ago, excellent service, cost 1200 for my MK4 1.0 with alloys, coilovers and NCB as i switched from being named on direct line, plus my mum is named driver on that as well and she has points on her license!
