Heya, I am new to all this as I have only just got my polo, but i gather you guys know what your doing! So i'll try my luck.

I recently purchased a pair of Vibe SE-K69's 6x9's (525watt with a 175watt rms), as well as these I bought some pre-constructed MDF 6x9 box enclosures, so far so good.

I currently have a Sony headunit that was left in by my sister, it outputs 4 x 45watts, will this be sufficient to power the 6x9's as well as the current stock speakers? When I say stock speakers, I mean only fronts, as my polo is the Mk3 6n.. therefore I have no rear speakers hence wanting to get some 6x9's.

I would like to get people's opinions on this set up, and also if you think I need an amp? - I am trying to avoid this.

Would be good to have some feedback!

the h/u amp will be 45 watts MAX true rms will be around 12 watts x 4

so basically you are way underpowering the 6x9's

personally i would ditch them and just run a good set of components in the front and a sub in the rear

You'll be able to power these speakers, just not to there full capicity.

You may buy an amp and power the speakers that way, just its whether you've got the money.

I've got two speakers running off my headunit, and a subwoofer in the boot powered by an amp.

And that does the job for me.

But your headunit can infact power the speakers fine.

I now realise that 6x9's are not the best for audio quality, but I am sure they will do the job for me.

I am becoming increasingly more attracted to getting an amp, but feel this is something to do when I have a bit more dosh!
