Well chuffed! Just had a letter from police!

Featured Replies

Right ladies and gents, not sure who was aware but i recently had a bit of a nasty knock with a guy on a motorbike, i was in my car and totally cut him and wiped the poor guy out, genuine balls up on my part!!

Police attended and and all was well and the bloke was very understanding and he was carted off to hospital and his injuries were classed as major, which meant i had to attend court for driving without due care and my insurance were paying for his injuries, bike and whatever else he could get.

However after 2 month of hearing nothing, i have had a letter from the police saying they have sufficient evidence for prosecution (there were countless whitnesses) but an alternative driver

improvement scheme has been offered so no court,no points. As an extra bonus my insurance contacted me saying the bloke had accepted a payout and as regards to injury claims was happy as long as his travelling costs (to hospital etc) and vehicle were replaced like for like!!

All in all I'm over the fucking moon as this could have gone much worse for me and just thought id stick this up, this also means i should be back on track for getting that VR6 and attending some shows next year.

As regards to the car, I'm after a VR6 Synchro but thought an endorsment on the old licence and mucho's points might scupper the old plans!!

Happy isnt the word!!

Now time to go learn to drive safely!

its got nothing to do with being able to drive safely, i drive like a nice person, have piss poor eye sight and have no attention span, but have a spotless license and no accidents that were my fault since i passed my test... its all about luck tbh

I'm a very good driver thankyou, no unsafe driving, just an unfortunate chain of events that led to the incident, hence the term, accident!

That's certainly not an attitude I'd have if I'd just narrowly avoided killing another road user.

But, you are lucky that things have gone no further than a day watching some shit on a projector.

Oh yeah. what would your attitude be then?? The blokes ok and all is been settled via the insurance, the chap had no major injuries really and was very understanding!

Maybe if id broke his neck then yeah,my attitude would alter a bit but as the situation has been relatively easily resolved and the bloke will get all that he is due then please tell me how my attitude is worng!!

I've been driving for years without so much as a point on my licence and made a mistake on not seeing the seeing the bloke,,again i would agree my attitude was wrong had i been driving like a tool and had previous incidents / convictions under my belt.

This was an accident and due to very understanding police i have got off lightly,,i think i have a right to be relieved!!

What happened then? And where were you?

Yes, this is the spanish inquisition :-D

Lol!! About 100yds from my house there is a main jusction on which theyve just put new lights up ((not an excuse i know lol)). I was sat in the right lane waiting to turn and a mondeo come towards me anchored on as if the filter arrow had come on so i hesitated and set off to turn,,by which time he'd set off again and i tucked in behind him to turn not seeing the gent on his bike behind the mondeo who promptly piled onto my 106.

As said above, had the incident been a lot more serious and the guy been badly hurt then my attitude may have been a bit different, but i get a little annoyed when people say things and know nothing of what happened.

One things for certain though, i have been very lucky on this occasion, mainly due to a very reasonable and understanding bike rider and the great attitude of the police involved!

Sounds like a genuine accident to me, everyone was probably wondering what was going on by the sound

of it. It's not like you pulled out without looking in your mirror like most knob heads do.

Also sounds like a very understanding biker! But he probably knew under the circumstances it wasn't really about bad driving just a bad view and confusion.
