Car: Polo 6n2 GTi

Insurer: Direct Line

Paying: £1400-ish. (£1600-ish cos i'm paying monthly, monthly payments of around £140) for fully comp.

NCB: 1

Age: 20

How come I'm seeing people with quotes of around the £800 mark, and they're the same damned age as me.

More NCB / different postcode? If you live in an area known for GTA your premium will be higher :(.

hey dont complin lol I'm paying £1100 on a 6n 1.4 8v lol third party f&t 1 year ncb and I'm also 20 :\ you are lucky haha

Could be many reasons.

Did you shop around?

The GTI is group 12 so quite high.

When did you pass your test?

What postcode do you live in?

You haven't mentioned points/claims?

Your not 21 yet...insurance companies like you a little more once your over 21 and even more once your over 25.

Dunno what you are moaning about

I'm paying 1.3K for a 1.3 MK3 coupe!

Same NCB, Same age....

I'm paying £2400 on a 1litre..... 18, 0ncb

and 3 points to add on renewal lol

Ouch, but the 3 points does make sense about it with the lack of NCB :p.

Did you shop around? Moneysupermarket * whistles *

The GTI is group 12 so quite high. True..

When did you pass your test? September 2007.

What postcode do you live in? KT9 1BW

You haven't mentioned points/claims? None. :)

I did phone up brentacre earlier, got a cheaper quote (by about £200 cheaper), plus I've declared all future mods lol. Got a 130bhp limit,

and the chap said it wont be much to move it up to the 150bhp limit. Can have as many mods as I like with no extra charge, providing the limit

on the policy isnt exceeded. So I might take em up on their offer. Its just their damned deposit so high.. £480 * sigh *

anyone seen this?

postcodes

Yeh, I'm like a five second drive away from kingston. Its a Black GTi if y'er wondering. I'm still debating on whether to switch to Brentacre or not;

Pros: Its a good £300 cheaper per year. Plus its with brentacre, so I can add all the mods I like, upto the 130bhp limit. (and even increasing the limit to 150bhp is not much)

Cons: I lose out on.. three months 'worth' of NCB, plus I have to save up £400~odd for a deposit.

What are y'er opinions folks?

Paying £1800 third part fire and theft. 18 with 0 NCB

I would definately switch to brentacre dude, as iirc directline wont cover ANY mods until you are 25

i was paying 1400 for a proper GTi at 19 1ncb!

hmm i dunno what the numbers mean

Your postcode? mine for example WV3. 3 being the number on that list

lol :-D

that'd make mine a C then!

not that it makes any difference knowing, i'm still gonna have to pay

£230 Fully comp on the track car.

£175 Fully comp the Polo.

Being old has some benefits!
