saying that ^^^6 i used plus gas and didnt rate it much tbh, wether that was because i had to end up getting the coileys in a vice lol cause when i brought my rado they were badly seized. (well the drivers side was, managed to get the passenger side free with wd40 and a scaffold bar on the end of the c-spanner for extra leverage)

I doubt it will work too well on Aluminium to be honest, are the dampers on the coilovers made of galvanised steel?

Gotta let it soak in, people apply it and expect it to work in seconds. Best solution to stop it happening is cover the coilies in motorbike chain lubricant. Sprays on easy, and cleans off easy with some good degreaser.

yeah i grease my coileys but when i brought the rado they were alrady seized.....i let it soak in for a good amount of time tbf. like i said tho they were badly seized when i got it.

Mine were seized to fook, after soaking them in oil overnight didn't help so i resorted to the chissel and hammer method, fooked up 4 of the 6 of the adjuster slots but it worked :-D

so can ayone suggest some god oil fro freeing them up ??

Well as you can see mate, everyone has their own way of doing things and opinions of how it should be done.

Just buy them, the materials mentioned to buy in this thread don't cost much. You could probably have them all for about 6 or 7 quid.

get em all cheaper then that m8 lol i work in halfords ... just wack out the discount card ...

so copper grease for keeping em nice and lubed up after yer ?

I do mine everytime I have the wheels off. So about 3 times a year.

when i had to raise my the back end on my car the N/S coil was seized rock solid, not even a long soak of loads of WD40 would shift it.

me and my step dad had to remove the whole lot, warm up with oxy-acetylene and hit it with a bolster chisel haha.

not the ideal way though, but it was the only way haha.

Mine are seized up at the back pretty bad. Gonna give all these another try and see how i can get on. I'd rather not take the whole lot out and put it in a vice lol

i didnt want to do it to be fair, but tryed everything and that was a last resort....... did the trick

Good trick with the cheap ones is to set them the correct ride height. Take them back off the car and then paint them with some rattle cans. Don't go mental and fill in all the thread but a decent dust over gives them a decent amount of protection. Won't be perfect but unlike some of the grease products you use it won't make dirt stick to them. The best way is to get the car up in the air say once a month and give them a quick clean off with a jet wash.

Dont use a chisel as they are sharp and will cut into the flat area of the adjuster rings and cause them to "feck up" could also take a chunk out of the thread.

When i was working on a set of seized coilies i lubed them up with some plusgas (A* bit of stuff) and it dislodged two of the 4 seized rings. The other two were solid, thought someone had welded them at a paticular height. I used a flat headed screwdriver as its not sharp like a chisel and wont cut into the metal and possibly cause you problems.

Spray on copper grease is some good stuff too. Much easier to use than the paint on/ rub on stuff and cleaner toooo.

As other people have said though, people tend to do things in their own little ways. Most of them will be aviable to you, just depends on what one you think your capable of doing and are confident in doing that.
