A technix coilovers vs standard setup

Featured Replies

not that bad? The wellers on my scirocco stuck out about 2 inchs, the arch was at most half an inch away from the tire on the back and it didn't rub, thats beyond stiff, thats solid

great for going real low, but shit for getting the best out of your car.

by the sounds of it a few people on this sight are a bunch of pussies

yerr its stiff but its not that bad! coilies are coilies & no matter what you get, even if there the pricey sets your never going to get anywhere near the comfort of standard suspension lol

also depends on wheels & tyres, that can effect the ride too dont forget

if your trying to say there is no difference between ride comfort between cheap coilovers and expensive ones your very wrong. but yes coilovers are designed for performance not comfort which i think everyone is aware of. and i personally think your a pussy for not running the minlites cos you were too low :p

You know the only reason that didnt rub is because it lays on the bump stop? cant complain that it is stiff than  AK dont have them, so they cant be stiff enough 8-)

my scirocco was no where near riding on the bump stops, the wheels wouldn't allow it ;)

AK's don't have bump stops, really? so whats this hiding behind the spring on mine?

looks suspiciously like a bump stop to me, so by your own reckoning they must be stiff enough :unibrow:

Touché 8-)

but seriously, clipping cats eyes when going round parked cars was a tad extreme :/

LeighP & the dude with the silver 6n on 6n banded steels will say otherwise but their just stupid!

& of corse, the difference between cheap & expensive coilies is big, but i trying to get across that imo theres no such thing as 'comfortable coilovers'

a friend of mine use to own a skyline on some very expensive coilies and he said it was one of the most uncomfortable rides

Overtaking cyclists and scaring the shit out of them as you smash a cats eye is the way forward

scraping the subframe along the road leaving sparks and shocked faces in your wake is more entertaining imo

Yer what josh said

lol

Hardly pussies

How can you drive your car hard if your flying out of the seat all the time? and your steering is constantly being taken away by small dips in the road?

Another thing that annoys me. Before I could actually use my cup holders  and my passengers could send a text with ease.

When your exhaust falls off in Belgium due to your suspension being stiff as and there roads being awful. and you cant even do 30 on a 70 because its probably going to brake something under your car, id take it as a sign your suspension is a tad too stiff

if they were very expensive then wouldn't they be fully adjustable rather than just height adjustable? If so you can hardly blame the coilovers for the way they've been set up
