Don't think so, I saw a Seat Ibiza (not sold in US) in Florida on Mexico plates so I'd presume you'd be fine as long as you remove the car from the country within a year.

well as said before roll on roll off costs £700-1000 one way depending on the ports. So that £1400-2000 on shipping before you even thing about anything else. If you want a container that's even more.

Then insurance. Without a US social security getting insurance can be tough and expensive on a US car let alone a grey market car. The insurance company I spoke to (State Farm) would only insure the car if it was a second car, which is fine for me. Specialist insurance for specialist cars is gear toward it being a second car. So like classic car here is limited mileage etc. Insurance for a non-US resident is hard to get at the best of times.

Unless you have money to burn or you are moving over permanently I wouldn't bother. Its going to cost $2000-3000 in shipping fees and at a guess another $2000 in insurance. So I can definitely think of better things to spend my dollars on whist there. :)

hwever if anyone has been or knows someone who has been to uni in america i would like to talk to them!

I'm in my first year at Northumbria University, I'd be going to Georgia State University in Atlanta for a year as my second year if I go through with it, the second year will be transferred to my degree in my third year.

That's what I recommend you do, go to university here and then do a year abroad.

Going to university there for the whole time is a big step.

Yeah so unless you've got £20,000 to spare, you haven't got much hope.

Hence why I recommended a year abroad, more realistic.
