DVLA suck chode

Featured Replies

a while ago i had a 4 cars i scrapped, well not all at once but for one reason or another the log books all got sent off at the same time (mostly through me just forgetting about them lol). any way about 12 weeks later i still hadn't heard any thing back from it, no confirmation letters ect, so i checked the details of the cars out on there site to see if they had been scrapped which they hadn't, but by this point the sorn had ran out on one of them and as i no longer had the log books i couldn't resorn it over the net. so i wrote them a letter explaining what had happened and giving details of the cars and asking if they could scarp them and addressed it to the address you send the log books to. 12 weeks later and i still haven't heard back from them, i'm expecting a fine through the door any time soon for the one that's out of sorn.

has any one else had any thing like this happen to them? or know what i should do about it?

Ring them up?

Writing letters is all good but for all you know the postman could be eating them or something.

lol me too :paranoid:

i normally just ask my mate or mrs to do it

How far from there offices are you in Swansea? lmao

dont waste your time ringing them, this was something a call operator told me from the dvla all they can do is advise and give info - write a letter using a few choice words -" incompetent, paying for your mistakes, pay your wages..."

then use a service called "signed for post" extra 30p ish but then you can track they received the letter

if they fail to reply to this letter state that you have proof of delivery and the letter contained photocopies you made of the logbooks before sending the originals off - now you have no proof.

i always make copies of all docs before sending off to them, i have a pre designed letter to send when they fine me for something that is not my fault - what you have to remember is they always fuck up and as such they believe everything thats in a letter lmao

And me lol, Thats why i use confused.com (y)

Yes if you phone them they will just tell you to put it in writing, i had the same problem with a old scooter i had, its up to the registered keeper to follow up confirmation letters, i ended up with a 40note fine i couldn't get out off and had to pay it, also at work we scrapped a car, even had proof of it being scrapped but the dvla wouldnt accept it as proof and got another fine for it not being taxed
