IMO, I would leave it standard and just drive it. obviously your enjoying saving money with the good mpg why waste it on indicators etc? i think you have done well to find a 53 plate for less than 2k and you should easily be able to get that back when you come to sell it if its still as nice as it is now. look after it pal and it will look after you. fords aint all that bad. my capri was 28 years old but everything was still in perfect working order

Indeed I've not change anything and I don't plan to its served well as I was doing a 60mile round trip for work 3days a week (as I'm at uni saving is great and having to travel whilst only doing a part time job meant fuel efficacy was amazingly helpful)

Now after changing jobs to better pay and under 20miles round trip of some lovely fun country roads I'm after something thats, well a little smaller and more fun to throw around but not thirsty, the biggest factor is insurance so I may go for an older ibiza like a 00-02 model 1.6, and put some money in the bank (know ill make money from the focus, not spent a penny yet will need tax end of next month thats all) little bigger then the 6n2 (love them but abit small for myself) and having BAD history with golfs i'd rather not (plus their overpriced)

yea man. iv got a mk3 at the moment and iv done some insurance quotes on silly things like v8 beemers and a 70's v12 jag and it seems i could insure pretty much anything at the moment so I'm torn between weather to flog the mk3 and buy a bmw or buy myself a diseasel and put something silly fast in the mk3 for weekend fun. i had a pug 405 1.9 TD before my polo and the guy who had it before me had fitted a bigger turbo out of a volvo so it went like the clappers for a diesel but i just couldnt justify paying £280+ a year tax when my mk3 is only £105. government are robbing bastards it just seems that if you want anything to have fun in you have to pay through the nose for it. just make sure whatever you do decide to get is affordable cos most people dont check tax and that before they buy a car, i know i didnt lol. anyway ill stop ranting on and let you get on with it, oh and btw, ibizas are good cars and pretty nippy still, even for a 1.6

Now back on standard rims, ride was pretty poor on the cheap tyres, very noisy and pulled.

get a tdi!!!! quite a few people i know with leon tdi's and they all love them get a full through exhaust and a remap you will LOVE IT! especially the noise they make :p

I'm currently on a 16month 2years no claim insurance deal, was by far the cheapest I could find and allowed me to work up a No Claims bonus, well having done quotes, a GT TDI Golf would give me an addition £600 premium (already just over 1k) and going to a new shaped focus as pictureed above an additional £110 and on a leon FR like I was hoping to get...

"additional premium of £2,593.39"

Kinda cancels out the idea of a FR for now...maybe when I get my 2years ncb in May I can take to another insurance company.

So with that ruled out I have enquired about a face-lifted TDCI

And must admit I'm tempted to put the ST bumpers and side on (they fit straight onto standard model)
