As of this morning my car has started pulling itself to the right... in 1st gear, if i just let it drive along and take my hand off the wheel i can see the steering wheel actually turning itself round and the car going in that direction!

What's it like when you're braking?

Check your ARB is on properly!

check your bottom arms too, sounds like you have a bush gone

ARB could be loose. But also check all the TCA bolts and bushings too.

check tyre pressures, sounds like a puncture!

Checked the tyres tonight, put 31psi in each of the fronts and the problem is still there. It's as if something is bent, the wheel feels like it's buckled and the ride is clunky.

I know i'm in need of some new bushes but this is as if it's just appeared overnight!

perhaps a knackered cv joint?

Have you hit anything hard? Or gone down a big drain or something?

I know someone who had this prooblem, It was the caster angle, is passengers side wheel was put foreward in the arch more compared to the drivers wheel

actually what I said makes no sense so ignore it! If a cv joint had totally gone then you'd get no drive at all. I need to remember not all these polos have limited slip diffs in them haha!

my money is still on the tcas. i had one go on my g40 and the car would steer itself immediately right at an alarming rate (i was using std polo ones, rather than the g40 rose jointed ones though which didnt help!)

and seing as you already know you need new bushes, i think you haqve kinda answered your own question! it wasnt progressive when mine went either, one day it was fine, next time i drove it i couldnt understand why my car suddenly felt like it was trying to torque steer me into the hedge!

the tca/arb bush has either gone or the nut on the end of the arb is undone.

I have a pair of G-Laderseite ARB Blocks, just under a year old so that would whittle it down to the TCA bushings. Will go out now and check all the bolts.

This round washer is spinning freely as the rubber that's supposed to be inside it has worn away. On the other side the rubber is still present and the washer is in it's place. Any relevance?

There's no nut there, it seems to be fixed in place but is loose enough to rotate. Will get onto some new TCA's and polybushes...

the ARB goes through that hole in the TCA. The ARB's threaded so after it passes through the tca with the relevant washers it can be bolted in place

if the nuts not there....then wheres it gone!

Look at the other side. There's a bolt there. Now this side. No bolt? It must be on the floor,or your suspension would've failed as soon as you braked with no bolt.

there should be a 19mm nut on the very end of the arb which should be tight up against the TCA, check to see if it's tight. I reckon that bush is knackered anyway though.

why dont you get some up-rated bushes and just fit them in the tca's you already have. if there is no nut on the end of the arb, i wouldnt go driving it anywhere either

Easy one, your bottom arm isn't fastened onto the ARB. There should be a nut and another domes washer on the back of that that threads onto the ARB.

If it's not there, replace it with a new one, if it is there, tighten it now and replace it with a new one as quick as you can. Ihad the same thing with my Coupe S, basically the nylock and thread on the nut had broken down so it was undoing itself as I drove along.

Nice one. Putting the car to rest for a bit tomorrow as need something reliable for work- have starting issues too. Will order replacement bottom arms. Also, it looks like i have a bulging tyre which could be causing the clunking...

From where I'm sat on the internet (not wobbling the car about and feeling the bushes) that bottom arm looks alright.
