i am looking to buy a set of alloys and have some picked out and they are 17" alloys and i am just wondering if they will do any damage to my car if i put them on?and if i do get them what would be the recommended tyres for them the tyres on them are 225/45/17? any help would be nice as new to all this really and am looking to get my 02 polo looking nicer!

yea 17's will fit will no problems, i take it theres just standard suspension?

Yep it is so would there be any problem with that?

will if they're coilovers u'll be able to adjust them to suit and if there lowering springs they'll onli drop the car 50mm or so which will be grand. what alloys are you thinkin of putting on?

just black five spoke ones they were on a mark 4 golf and i am getting them pretty cheap so i aint complaining!do you have any recommendations on tyre size for them? as they are 225/45/17 on them at the moment!like would they be ok on them? thanks for all the help!

yep those tyres wil be fine on them, plently of profile!

if they're standard they'll prob be 7-7.5j, use the stretch guide pinned in this section!

The ideal profile when running 17's on a 9N is 40 which gives the smallest speedo error but 45 will do but id check how far out your speedo will b and just b aware of it
