Right i might be possibly getting a new car, it has mot but no tax at the moment as the bloke cant afford insurence he cant tax it? so if i went up with cover can i take him with me with all the docs including v5 not sent off but signed and tax it?

if u have an insurance certificate I'm sure you can use the little green slip (new keeper supplement) and MOT to tax it however i dont know this for certain just a guess :\ also you could tax it online??

like i say if you have the required documents then you can do it with the green slip as i cant see any issue with this... my local post office is as dodgy as fuck some old woman went in with an MOT certificate from last year saying that her new ones faded so she doesnt have it and they let her tax the car :\

You can tax a car with a green slip in your name aslong as you have valid insurance and MOT.

Don't whatever you do tax it online!!!! As the tax disc will go to the previous owner not you as you will tax it when the V5 is in his name on the DVLA system.
