ICE: JVC Headunit. JBL uprated front speakers. Crappy Mutant 6x9's, 12inch sub

So that was the car when I picked it up...

When I bought the it the oil light kept coming on, at first I thought this was due to it having too much oil in it to mask the holes that were in the side of the sump, so I fixed the sump with chemical metal and changed the oil. This didn't solve the problem so I hooked up an oil pressure gauge to find that there was next to no oil pressure getting to the head. So an engine swap was planned..

At first I was going to use an AEE or ABU, but I was let down on the AEE lump I found and couldn't get my hands and any others for the right price, so I decided to just swap it for another 3F, which I sourced from CMS. Got the engine home and cleaned up to find that it was an NZ, called up CMS and they didn't have any other 3F's however he did have an ABD which he agreed to swap with the NZ that I paid £90 for.

Did the conversion a couple of weeks ago, took me a day and a half, but I also refreshed all the brake flexi pipes, TCA's, and track rods which has made the car much nicer to drive. ABD is nice but I really need the timing setting up properly. I also think its overfueling so need to investigate that.

Been thinking more about styling recently so I've got some vinyl lined up for the roof, I'm toying with the idea of stripping the paint off the bumpers and the wing mirrors and banana's will be going black.

Oh and these arrived today........

14x8 et12 and 14x9 et0, they will be wrapped in 195/45's Falkens next week. I also gave them a quick coat of paint to protect them from the weather

Not how they will be staying though.....

They'll go on, poke will be fine. looking forward to getting them on the car myself, need to find some time to get busy with the arch roller though.

Haha you're mad. You're gunna need a lot more than just an arch roller I'll tell u that! Mine are 8J ET 10 and I've had to flare them to the max just to get them to sit inline with the arches. Good luck though I'm looking forward to seeing this!

Btw I fitted these by hand in my yard.

This morning I decided I needed to put them on the car and see how much work was going to be needed.....

Oh, yeah cant wait to get hold of the arch roller and getting them on the car, arches just need to come out a little and the rear needs to go down a bit then all will be good.

not sure you got your offsets right because they would poke alot more than that :s !! not much arch work neede tbh

I'm sure i calculated right but i may be wrong, they were 14x6 et38 now they are 14x8 14x9.

Arches were rolled on the weekend, unfortunately there was filler in both the rear arches from minor scrapes that it has had previously, so thery didn't go so well. Ah well I'll break the filler out soon and fix them up..

Thats gonna look awsome rolling on those dude I like the idea of the Vinyl roof too! Was thinking something along the lines of that for my roof! Good work man!

Just rechecked my calcs...

The original wheels were 14x6 et38, meaning the mating face is 114.2mm from the rear this hasn't changed with the banding.

The wheels are now 9" wide or 228.6mm wide meaning the centre is at 114.3 so therefore they are now et -0.1 effectively et0 on the rear.

Also the fronts are 14x8" or 203.2mm wide so now et12.6.
