Not another "how to do the complete 6n2 dash conversion" thread, I've researched into the 6n2 dash conversion for a while now and hopefully want to have a go sometime soon. I am confident in the wiring or switches (such as heating, hazard lights etc) but I'm having a problem working out how to convert signals Canbus 6n2, 6n2 which the tacho / clocks expect to receive from the 6N which does NOT use the CANbus. I also heard that because my car is a early 1997 model, it uses the older style clocks 6n, which would make it a lot harder to achieve.

Anyone got any clues on how I would go about doing it?

ask connie on here, he did the 6n2 dash in his 6n.. looked sweet but was an absolute ball ache from what I've heard...

there's a cable that does this, it splits the 90 spec wiring into two which enables it to run mk4 clocks, I'm pretty certain from having had a loop and ripping it to bits that this cable will do all you need.

Can't remember the link for it though, which is hella usefull.

it's the one people use for doing TT conversions and such.

that's not it.

Didn't think so, thats a conversion part for pre canbus controlled head units - Doh :(

Any idea's what the cable is?

Some research shows when the cable is split, these are the marked clock functions:

Blue connections got the speed sender connections, along with all the left indicator/headlight/temp warning etc

Green connections used oil level, rhd indicator/can bus/seatbelt warning/bonnet open/handbrake, outside temp

Grey conections used door contacts, brake light warning, washer fluid level, dipped beam.

I'm still looking for more info though :)

not sure which one you'd need. If I get this properly, you need the can bus interface?
