small issue with gti lights.. sometimes when i switch them on the left one flickers and goes off.. howver if i switch off and back on again it works.. anyone know why this happens, is it a lose connection somewhere ??

the ballast is becoming weak / the actual light units on it way out could be either, but prob the ballast, as it makes the arc but while its cold it needs alot of energy to keep the arc going, as soon as the gas has warmed a little it alot easier to keep the arc going, hence why if you switch off and back on it works fine as the gas has already been warmed a little.

easy thing to do is live with it, or chnage the burner and ballast.

Failing ballast is normally the cause as it fires the high voltage starter spark but then cannot keep the 90v constant going. Hence the flickering then switching off.

If its been doing it for a while then the bulb might be on the way our as well.

it was ok with the normal bulbs, only started happening once i changed to 6k, the other bulb is fine, could it not be the bulb?
