You KEEP the new keeper supplement. The seller should send the other half off and you should recieve your new V5 in the post. If you have bought a car you shouldnt have to send off anything in the post.

Yes, but if you read the post you would realise the seller doesnt have any of his details.. so how could he post anything off?

Ring the seller, give him your details and ask him to send the stuff off.

You can apply for a new logbook without the seller doing anything but its a lot easier to get him/her to do it as then it only takes about 2 weeks

Or just ring DVLA if you have no luck and you need a form which you fill in (forgot what its called)

Engine Number, and all the details of the car etc.

then they'll send you it out.

yeh my logbook got lost in the post and I'm in the process of gettin a log book but have to pay for the £25 privilege for doin this!

If you can't get hold of the seller, phone DVLA to check it's not been sent in anyway, and then use a form V62 (downloadable off DVLA), there's no charge if you include the new keepers (put a coverring letter in to say what's happened, and keep a photocopy of the slip).
