well its been about 5 weeks sisne I've done any work on the mk1 but decided to change that today

bought a whole sill section insted of trying to fabricate a peice the right shape to weld in...

winer! happy with that, means ill also get the right little lip in which although i didnt notice it at first would bug me now i have noticed it lol

Looks awesome. Mk1 golf with a GT engine is a cool hybrid between looks and fun!

this is a great thread, I'm sure I've seen the other golf at the beginning at no rice ?

cant wait for updates on this one :D

GT engine uses all the same mount, its just one mount that you need to cut the gt one and the mk1 one in half and weld together :D

acid etched the slam panel and filler primered to make it nice n smooth , needs a little work still tho

ok its been a while.. theres lots of bits missing between my lost update on here n this one but hey ho lol

yeah so its not quite as easy as take old one out put new one in... its a bit baggy... lol

so after a couple of hours, lot of glue and even more of a head rush...

also before i did the headlining i painting the inside black :D very happy with it

cut a rear load liner out, have black to go over the top thats just the nice spongey bit

oh and put the rear windows back in..

so chuffed with todays progress, its starting to look like a car again and I'm one happy bunny lol

Want to do this myself one day - what an inspiration :)
