I've been looking at different quotes recently and found Endsleigh the cheapest, £1200 for me,20 without no-claims but 2years driving (classic policy so didn't get no-claims bonus)

£1200 on a 115bhp tdci focus. So on a polo I could prob get around 1k or slightly less

I'd never pay over a grand for insurance! When I was 18 with 0 years no claims I paid £650

Now I'm 19 with a years no claims I pay just over 500. Been getting quotes for Corrados/Mk3 GTI's for just under 800 quid.

Who are you with?

its just on of them things insurance am 17 got 6 points and i found a cheap way round it luckly enough, polo 6n 1.4 on my dads insurance on churchhill so i am still getting no claims without taking out my own policy thats if stay with churchill obv but they were cheapest for me anyway so its all good costing me £1400. but really all you can do is just put up with it really!

This is why I like being a bit older

22 - 5 years no claims - £250 fully comp with protected no claims and everything. :D

Insurance was insane when I was 17, but after a couple of years careful driving, it does come down to something more reasonable.

Seem's all gravy until you get done for fronting eh?

I'd start with my own policy from day one, even if it was £1500-2000, you only have to pay it for a year or so, a couple of years of careful driving and it's down to £400-500.

How are they going to prove you are fronting though? "My dad said i could use the car to go get something from the shop" Coppers aint going to prove you've been driving hundreds of miles.

Not saying that is what you should do, since I'm on my own policy at 17, stupidly expensive, but it only dropped a 100 quid when my dad was the main driver, since his job is high risk.

Hopefully by next year, i won't have any crashed and be able to afford something with some more oomph, I was hoping insurance changes when i hit 18, but i doubt it..

By and large they cant prove it, but they get suspiscious when your parent suddenly decides to buy a small car, and then put there newly passed child on the policy.

I see where you are coming from.

But someone with half a brain can make a decent excuse up

Aye, just remember they're astards though, any excuse not to pay out.

And oh btw try bell insurance. I was insured with them when I was 18 all mods declared for 650 odd TPFT. Wasn't much more for fully comp.

Looking at quotes for my car,

TDCI Focus 1.8 115 insurance group 8. 0 noclaims

£2200 for me at 20

quinn direct same details - £1238

adrian flux- £1360

Best quote is Endsleigh for £1054

They also offer a 6months starter, which is £620 but after the 6months you get 1yr no claims

TPFT £550 at 19 with no years no claims..

Being female .. :)

You might be best off on your parents insurance for a bit because it's cheaper and although you don't rack up no claims you still go so long without claiming which helps..

go with Endsleigh and do their 6months thing then renew for 12months and it will knock 30% off at the 12months renewal, then after 18months you have 2yrs no claims (which will redue all premiums huge amounts)

Just goes to show:

Women: Maternal, caring, don't take risks as much as men.

Men: Live with women, get annoyed at them then drive like lunatics and crash :p.

Lmao :D...

Buy a what? You could buy a razor blade and chop your balls off, claim you're a girl then watch insurance prices fall XD.

Geoff is the car that they made on top gear.

You just need to get older!

New policy today, Mk1 Polo, 4000 miles a year, fully comp, no NCB, standard, £109. For the year.

That will do. HIC win!

£ 700 fully comp. mk4 6n 1.0l , mommys insurance tho :-(

i no people say not to but with my policy I'm earning no claims :D

i can insure a GT for £570 :D

what insurance group did u go with mate :) .. eg. you are mums like or did she open a seperate 1 and put u as a named driver ? cheers

I see where you are coming from.

But someone with half a brain can make a decent excuse up

Nah, fronting is for idiots. For a small bump, yeah it's easy to make up an excuse. But for instance if you hit a bugatti veyron and write it off, that's gunna be a massive pay-out for the insurance company; so they're going to investigate it in every way possible to try and not pay up. If they find out that the car is in your name and the policy is in youre dads name, you're fooked.

Also it's even harder to get away with if you modify the car, cos lets face it a 40ish year old guy isn't gunna be driving a modded 1L polo, they're gunna smell fish straight away.

You have 6 points on your licence??

Doesnt that mean you lose your licence an have to dom a driving course??
