New car, 78 G40 Derby

Featured Replies

Been looking for a new car for a while, found this little girl lurking on Edition. After chatting to the owner and builder of the car Kam, went to view it, and the rest is history.

Its a non runner, well it runs, but has no MOT or Tax, oh and its missing the charger, as the Rotrex it was running went Pop hence the lack of the MOT.

Anyway had to extend the driveway to fit the car on :-( which has eaten some funds, but here she is on the day of arrival

Plans include some nice 16" which has already been ordered from Halfords as well as a nice Jap style rear spoiler for the boot, these should be fitted soon. Other plans include fitting big bumpers and also a scooby bonnet scoop.

Not too sure on the interior or engine yet, but space is limited under the bonnet untill i start cutting things about, so a return to the G40 for the car, as Kam didn't fit it as he didn't want to cut the car about...

i hope your taking The PEE :o

haha I hope this is a joke! Well I hope your plans aren't serious

I'm sure this is the oldest UK derby out there. Halfords wheels and Jap's eye spoiler? Surely not!

I haven't seen this car in aaaages. I saw it at UD years and years ago when he first put the Rotrex on it. Would be good to see it back up and running!

Looks a good project, will be a beast when its running 8-) I'm not sure about your plans - but its your car :?

not sure about your plans, but it looks sweet as it is

the car looks uber kool, but like evenone else has said, i do hope you are "yanking my chain" with those plans for it :s. would be a shame if you do it.

The oldest Derby? Really?

again...... if those plans are genuine you want locking up......... would be a laughing stock....

i seriously hope you are joking

I can't believe anyone's questioning whether he's joking...

please tell me your are joking, all of it, it sounds like you are gunna kill this car

a real shame, please please please think before you do anything, kill that mk2 first please

I'm going to pray your post was just a joke *pray pray*

shit I'm gunna ban him

well I've searched his profile and he is 31, so it has to be a joke

man this is too stressful lol

I'm nervous

haha, dudes gotta be joking.

I mean, no daft chav that actually wanted to do those things would extend there drive just for the car, they would simply shove it on the grass

fluxco come out with your hands up!

well I've searched his profile and he is 31, so it has to be a joke

man this is too stressful lol

Age makes no difference in a case of bad styling I have learned.

There is a 34 year old woman at my work who has recently bought 17" multi spoke, multi stud alloys for her car (which dont fit and dont suit it), a cheap 4X4 badge and I believe she was considering a tacky sunstrip.

the suspense is killing me!

Nice car man

If you think hes being serious, you are all mugs :L

But if he does do this il quite happily kill myself :ninja:

Hes just messing around lol, looks very nice.

Well it's my car and it's up to me what I want to do to it. It was for sale for a while so anyone had the chance buy it and do what they wanted to it.

However, I aint gonna be doing any of that to it ;)

It is going to be loosing the G engine as it doesn't fit without chopping the car up :-( and it is too mint for that. So that will be going in the mk2 in the back ground. Although I haven't looked into whether a turbo will fit yet, if it does, I will be on the look out for another G engine to go into the mk2

work will start on it soon :-)

more pictures to follow soon once my laptop has been fixed

Ahh, good man. Least we won't have the suicide of Luke_mk3 on our forum now
