the tyres I've got on my teardrops are too big so i want some lower profile ones, what profile should i go for, the current tyres are 195/50/15

A fair bit, if you want it lower then theres the more expensive 185/50 R14's or you could just go thinner.

there only 6.0 or 6.5j so it would be pointless stretching them, can you get 45's dyu know

And it wouldnt be pointless, if there not as wide then they won't catch the arch.

I can drop my MK3 on its standard steels with 145/80 tyres 80mm then get a car full and a boot full, go off a curb and it won't scrub. But with my 185/55; they scrubbed even with three people at 60mm down.

Not exactly sure but if your going budget; could try 165/60?

Stretch on a 6 will most probably handle like poo, as you have fuck all tyre to start with, then it's being stretched, which will make it perform worse as the sidewall isn't working properly. I run a 185/50/14 on a 6J, which are a lovely size, no scrubbing due to high offset, only snag is they sting you for that size

i might go for them, are they slightly stretched then? how much did you pay?

sorry for hi-jacking, but do teardrops have rounded stud holes? can i use standard mk3 wheel bolts on them?

No stretch on a conti 185/50/14, hundred quid a corner near enough. Phil recommended yoko's, which are prob a little less?

I'd recommend 195/45 falkens, I ran em on a set of 6j wheels an they sat perfect. Will be a lot lower profile!

195's are very slightly wider than 185's, but they come in lower profile sizes. You can also get 195/40/14's but they're harder to get hold of.

Just get some 195/45/14 tyres if you are on a tighter buget and can find them easier.

all the garages are sayin that there just as hard to get as the 185's
