just beeon on website, cant find any news....wanna see how much they were bought for

mercedes bought a controlling stake in brawn, not mclaren, it'll be called Mercedes GP next year. and button is on the verge of signing for mclaren for next year.

Didnt know they bought them but i did know button was talking with them and joined??,

Makes sense.

hamilton's dad is trying to change his money status,

i think from what the papers say he gets like £50,000,000 A YEAR or that be his contract cost

No actual details were released on his contract. The rumours indicate its about £70m over the course of 5 years though.

Will be good to see Hamilton and Button at the same team in a way, then again it will also have its drawbacks.

Hamilton will pee all over Button when they're in the same car.

it seems a weird thing to do to me, all I can see is another clash of egos like when hamilton & alonso were in the same team where they both wanted to be the star driver.

I think Button will know his place if I'm honest with you, it's a bit different between Hamilton and Button too.

Even Jenson would have to concede his career was peetering out a bit until Brawn came along, and I think he will be very happy to play second fiddle at McLaren.

With Alonso he was a bit of a shit stirrer and kept bringing up the idea of favouritism within the team, and also the instance where he prevented Hamilton from doing a hot lap. I will admit I'm biased towards Hamilton but I don't think Lewis was being that egotistical. It was his first season after all, therefore he didn't really have any ego to exercise, he would have just wanted to do well.

Why should button have to play second fiddle to hamilton? Last season has shown that he's a good driver, given a competitive car. I think next season is going to be very interesting!

hamilton scored more points than anyone else in the 2nd half of the season once they'd got the mclaren competitive though.

Still, it'll be interesting yeah

Why should button have to play second fiddle to hamilton?

What I mean by that is I don't think Button will be like he was last season, in the same car Hamilton will be faster over Button. Therefore if Hamilton's faster, he'll have to get used to being second fastest.

Button was good in the first half of last season, but I think Brawn were fortunate in how they developed their car and the other big teams didn't.

Yes, it should be an interesting season.

Fair play, I'd agree with that to be honest.

I'm keen to see what the new teams are going to be like. Also Bruno Senna! Not holding my breath on that one though haha.

I love the fact that button is saying he moved teams because he needs a challenge, what ever team he is at it is going to be a challenge this season, since he isn't going to have a car that is miles better than any other team. And even if he does, that means that Lewis will have the same car and beat him all over the park..

I did say that Button and Hamilton would be an epic partnership after he won this year and everyone snubbed it and said there was no chance it would EVER happen.

I'll second that! I'm not feeling this new partnership, Button would have made a great second driver for a top team like mclaren last year as he is a smooth consistent driver, good for gathering data on the cars performance while also picking up some points on the way. But now he's been gifted a title he thinks he's something he's not, I think he actually beleives he's as good as Hamilton! This will lead to a few things; Firstly, Alonso syndrome, and we all saw what happened there. Secondly, if things don't go his way, he may blame the car being built around Lewis. And worst case scenario, he gets jealous, pushes too hard and fucks something up for his teammate, imo the best all round driver and most deserving on the grid.

I also remember him making snide remarks about hamilton on more than one occasion, this doesn't bode well for their new partnership.

All round bad move if you ask me but, on the other hand, they would have had similar issues with Raikonnen and Button is cheaper (and rightly so!)

Tbh, while the idea of having 2 brits for McLaren (both title winners too) sounds like a dream team, I think I'd of preferred it if they were in seperate teams so they could have some proper rivalry. Was reading in The Sun yesterday about it, worth a read tbh ;). Also I think that they won't be given equal chance and that Lewis will be the golden boy... I'd rather see them racing each other!

Would be even better if they were driving for Lotus, (If Lotus were actually still a british team!).

Right, I'm putting a pint on that button is out of the top 10 this year.

So if i'm right you owe me a pint, if he comes in 10th or higher i buy you a pint.

You can buy me the pint at some show next year ;)

Anyone accept?

they reckon that schumacher is going to mclaren and making a come back in 2010 :shock:
