They do get crushed in the end, the scrappage scheme cars are in a separate compound and are crushed after 6 months, giving people a chance to scavenge parts, but they dont charge much for the parts taken from cars in that compound. Picked up a shed load of spares, pocket loads of relays & fuses, 3 VW grills and a mass of OEM wheel trims and as many other parts i could stuff about my person for a tenner.

The sorriest sight on that day was a mk3 Toyota Celica Supra with a 7M-GTE engine in it :( still had 3months tax on it. If i had the trailer on me i would have taken the car away and got the engine out.
