My personal experince gives Brentacre the edge. I wouldn't mind HIC but for £4 Brentacre would do it for me. Its a smaller team, so easier to build a rapport, and the phone system is quicker.

They are both brokers so if there are any incidents or policy issues you'll ultimately end up in the same place.

Check admin fees for changes. If I recall HIC would charge something in the region of £20 for everychange made. Brentacre charges for only certain things such as car change etc. Not 100% sure but worth checking.

Pretty close call really and I'd say if you are not planning to make any changes to car during your policy term, then I suggest you pocket the £4 and get yourself a pint!

cheers for that mate, now you mention it i think hic said they charge £25, brentacre dont charge anything, and about the rapour thing i did have rather a good chat with brentacre and hic i kinda felt like i was rushed so brentacre have the winning edge at the moment, has anyone made claims with both companies just incase? (touch wood i dont need to)

I had an accident whilst with HIC and in the middle of one now with Brentacre and to be honest, they are the same. You essentially go through to the insurer's claims team so really has nothing to do with either as they are just brokers!

iv spoke to most of the brentacure team, there all very cool and know there vws, apart from the woman who seems raer moody, and even denied me a quote on a new car!

I did the callback thingy from HIC today, and ended up talking to adrain flux - didnt realise they were the same people.....

Been with brentacre for a few years, nothing but good things to say, they insure my older bro for about £300 on his MK1 rocco, and have told him when he's finished his 2.0 16v engine, which should be around 150-160 bhp, just to let them know, but it wont affect the premium! Pretty ace! I've never had a problem with them!

Yes that woman needs to brush up on her customer service skills. Get Kerry or John to show her how it's done...

I've been with Brentacre for years... never had to claim but they're great with changes to policy etc! :)

I've been with brentacre for 8 years, fantastic team. i get on with them all (even freda), excellent prices and customer services. cant fault them.

nothing is a problem for them, i vote brentacre :)

I think his name's kerry? he's a top bloke at Brentacre. When It came to asking if I had any modifications to the car I told him what they were, and he said 'that's what we like to hear' haha, found it quite unusual for an insurance company to say that. Brentacre are a family company so seem very friendly which is good, not sure if HIC are so I can't really compare, but since I've been with brentacre I've had no problems.

I vote Brentacre. The woman got me a top quote on my car, and Kerry has always been sound when adding mods to my policy. Will be renewing with them if they are competitive on price again :) Nobody else could touch them this year though.

BRENTACHRE !!!!!!!

I would happily recommend Brentacre to anyone, really good customer service, so satisfying to ring up and tell them what you've done after a big modding sesh, just for them to say 'that's all done for you' and no extra cost; all in a pleasent Welsh accent!

brentacre are alright, but... I had to pay £25 for a new cover note detailing my plate change.

Also, they're not the cheapest out there. I think i'll be shopping about come renewal time.

Brentacre started taking the piss with their premiums when I was with them a few years ago, so I got a quote from Flux - which was just over half of what Brentacre wanted. I got told by Brentacre that I must've lied to Flux to get it so cheap, so they lost my custom immediately.

not happy with brentacre, got my renewal through and its the same price as last year!

brentacre user here.

brentacre here to helpful and friendly team i found.

brentacre deffinately!!! i was with adrian flux/HIC earlier this year, and brentacre beat my renewal quote without me even asking them to! and that was with all mods included for no extra!

And like everyone is saying they are a realy good team, when i called i spoke to about 3-4 different people in one day and they all seemed really cool guys! I found it quite funny when they were shouting across the office to each other asking about the previous phone call i had about an hour earlier as they remembered who i was still!! great guys!
