I have just bought myself a stealth shelp and some vibe black air 6x9s which are 525watt wired them into the aduio system i was running, which was:

12inch pioneer sub 1400watt

kenwood 350 watt amp,

The amp handled the sub nicely and it produced some good power, but with the edition of the 6x9s it is a load of crap. So i was wondering if someone could tell me a amp that i can buy that will run the whole system on, or a good amp that will be able to handle the power of the sub and i run my orignal amp just with the 6x9s.

the best thing to do would be to buy another amp thats what i had to do not to sure what size.

my 6x9s are 350w and my amp for them is 450w and they work fine if thats any help

coulnt u try running the 6x9s of the headunit and have the amp just for sub .. thats if theres nuff ports in the back of you are unit ?

Although 6x9's are pretty useless in audio :/ (depends what type your after)

Id try running them from the HU to test

With running a amp for the sub and a amp for the 6x9s, would the 6x9s still over power the sub in the bass of the tunes,

Do i have to connect both of the amps togeather, to get them to work.

I am not sure how many ports i have at the back of the head unit, i will have check the spec.

ok that all sounds good mate, but could you tell me what the Amp RCA's and Remote Cables are as you lost me there.

So i just got to wire the 6x9s into the back off the HU. and amp rca's and remote cables are already what i have run down the side of the car.

Basically.

These are Phone Cables (also known as RCA's)

The remote cable is the one that fits into the amp inbetween the Power and Earth (also known as (12v+ and Ground (GND)) more commonly a thin BLUE cable.

So long as your headunit has 2 sets (Phono/RCA outputs) outputs at the back of the headunit you could run them via a seperate amplifier without any issues. If it only has a singular output that your currently using for the Sub then you could split this using a Phone splitter to run to a seperate amp.

You could run the 6x9s off the Headunit by connecting them to the Green and Purple wires. (these are the rear speaker output) If your already running rear speakers off the headunit, wherever they may be, these would have to be disconnected as the 6x9's would replace these.

If your not up to doing such a job yourself, id STRONGLY sudjest you take it to a local car audio shop (not halfords) for them to do it for you. It will be done properly and you'll (hopefully) get some good advice too.

okay thanks mate, yeah i have thse cables in my car, i had a bit of a memory lost and could not reamber what the cables look like or were. lol

from looking at the back of my drawing of my head unit i have 1 set of rca outputs,

so i was going to wire the 6x9s into the green and purple, i have no rear speakers so the 6x9s should just fit right in is that correct,

but if that does'nt sound any good then i will split and buy another amp.

Your headunit only has one pre-out, what the RCAs connect to the amp.

You can split this and use the single output from the HU to give the same signal to each amp. (this isnt the best thing to do but it will work.)

hi steve, i need tp pick your brians if that is okay.

Hi. I have a 2001 polo but i have a problem can you help me please.

I wired up my 6x9s to the green and purple wire's at the back of the H/U, i drove down the road and they where fine but when i was on my way back the cd player just went dead, the fuse i have from the battery forthe sub blow. checked the other fuses on the radio, main fuse and the amp, they are all fine.

Any help would be great.
