Where to connect wire to 6x9s.?

Featured Replies

Hey,

I'm new to this forum so I hope this is in the right place.

I'm going to put two 6x9s in my parcel shelf of my polo and from reading on here, I think its a 6n but I'm not sure. Its a 96 polo.

I've read around the forum on this topic and I haven't found out where to actually wire the 6x9s to.

I've taken pictures of the bottom door speakers (sorry, they may be a bit blurry. Its hard to get detail) and was wondering if any of you could help me out with where to connect the speaker wire. Do I connect the wire to the subs, tweeters or headunit?

I know the original speakers and headunit are dodgey but would you be able to help me with this please?

Thanks

Dan

Back of the sub/door speaker

Hey dan, u should connect the 6x9 speaker wire to the rear left and rear right wires in the back of you are headunit, thats if you are not running an amp m8e.

My headunit is the bog-standard tape/radio :/

Where abouts do they go in?

Thanks for your reply :)

i did my upmost not to use ports in headunit.....

i took the wires out from the speakers on top of the dash, spade connected everything up with fuses (just in case) and ran the wire through the floor with the loom.

works superbly and no loss of quality without the dash speakers.....

am running sub aswell tho with amp

6x9s dont touch amp at all.

pm me if u want pics?

@bogle : PM'd you

Would anyone be able to tell me where the wires would connect to the back of the headunit just to try the sound quality and sound staging out.

Cheers again

MORE INFO,

Got some pictures of the back of my headunit.

Could someone tell me where the wires should go into the back?

Thanks for all the help so far :)

green and purple are the rear output or the speakers.

GREEN IS REAR LEFT POSITIVE

GREEN WITH A BLACK LINE IS REAR LEFT NEGATIVE

PURPLE IS REAR RIGHT POSITIVE

PURPLE WITH A BLACK LINE IS REAR RIGHT NEGATIVE.

Okay, so how would i connect the speaker wire running from my 6x9s to where these wires are now?

Cheers

Dan

EDIT: Bearing in mind i would rather have dash, door and 6x9s working at the same time :)
