Have a Clarion 4x50W cd player installed and want to change the speakers in the doors. What size are they?

My car came without speakers in the rear doors and I want to place speakers there, are there cabels there from factory?

the factory speakers are 6.5"/17cm

and there will not be the wiring in the rear for speakers everyone i have done has never had them

you can fit 6.5" in the rear fitted behind the trim on a custom mount

So there is no wiring from factory in the rear doors?

the easiest way of checking is to pull the h/u out and see how many speaker cables there are if there are 8 then you have the cables run if not then obviously you will not

i meant to add all of the ones i have done have only been 3 door models is yours a 5 door

Mine is a 5 door.

Do you know where I can find a DIY for removing the door panels?

remove the trim for the door handle this will unclip (this will be tight but will pull off

if it has manual windows then the collar between the doorcard and th winder handle just slides one way and then you can pull the winder off

then if you look at the inside of the door handle there will be a couple of scres remove those and then the door card should just pull off

check along the dottom of the doorcard to make sure there are not any screws along the bottom

Sorry for the bump, but where could I get hold of rear speakers? Like 'more' mine has no rear speakers (again, a 2002 9n 'E'). I'm perfectly happy to keep the Beta (?) thing VW fitted up front, I play music through an iTrip so the sound quality will never be perfect (compressed MP3s over the radio!) and I'm pleased that VW compromised on the E by not putting in any rear speakers, instead of putting in rubbish everywhere!
