really you must be a lucky one becasue every handset i have had has had somthing wrong and they wont even change it for one that works properly , it really annoys me becasue i pay £45 a month and insurance on top. things like the bluetooth really piss me off becasue you cant send anything thro it. I haven't got the 3gs becasue they wouldent upgrade me, they wanted me to pay the rest of the contract off then take out a new one. microsoft and apple are two companys very simala and both piss me off lol but i all ways end up buying their products.

I do understand that safari is there and its usable. Its completely usable, that is exactly what I use now to use the forum when I'm out and about. But you can also access Hotmail, facebook, and the rest from safari, however there are still applications for them both to make it easier to interact with (in my opinion). Its completely subjective, for instance, if a club polo app came out and it cost £100 or £200 to develop and release and the app say cost .50p to download I would almost guarentee that most people that have an iPhone and use CP would download it. That would mean after the first say 400 downloads the money is retrieved. Simply for the fact that it is, firstly, something they are a part of and because its ONLY .50p lol. It doesnt make life EXTREMELY difficult using safari, I'm just saying it would be 'good fun' to have an app. I use the 'push' email app, facebook, ebay, online banking etc from my phone and using safari can get a little frustrating. So, just a case of (in our new lazy world) being a click away. Rather then open safari, type in the address (or open bookmark), then find relevant forum, etc etc. The app pretty much auto updates and makes it fit to screen. Nevertheless, itll probably never happen... lol.

Ow and, iPhone is awesome. I have onyl had the 3g up until now and (touch wood) it hasnt faulted me yet. I've put it through some stick, what with rolling around under my car and have it constantly fall out of my pocket and jsut dropping it accidently. But seems to just keep going. Abit anoying that I dont get very much 3G signal but hey its the price you pay with technology. Due an upgrade in Jan and definatly getting the 3GS, I tried my mates and the internet is way quicker imo. James, if companies didnt bring out technology gradually companies wouldnt make money lol.

I had a 3G with a dodgy volume button. Took it to a genius store and walked out 5 mins later with a brand new phone. No questions asked. Sounds like you're unlucky.

lol yeh i dont have a volume button it fell off along with the head phone jack and the silent button is broke loll maybe its just me. I still would download the app tho :)

To be honest for web browsing I really can't fault my 8900. If your viewinhg a webpage it pretty much knows which bit is the main bulk of what your going to read. It will show you the whole page, press zoom one and it resizes so you can read the text without having to keep scrolling left and right.

Just as many apps as for the iPhone really and I prefer the keyboard. I struggle to text/type on the iPhone. The virtual keyboard seems to small. Not so bad when its qwerty. Funny thing is the keyboard on the blackberry is much smaller than the iphone one but it feels easier to use.

I had last years curve, before the hype of the blackberry came about lol. It was an awesome phone and I enjoyed using itbut I wasnt a huge fan of the net. I definatly agree that even though the buttons are smaller they are still cool to use! So weird. But I really wanted an iPhone so I got one and i prefer it to the BB. I found the BB was more of just a phone whereas iPhone is a little more interactive in the way I like. I cant really say I explored the BB with a huge level of useage. What I REALLY didnt like about the BB is how they were quite prone to breaking. I had 3 in the time of my contract and on both of the old ones the trackball fell out. However, MY iphone up until today has been cool, unlike some of the unlucky dudes one here lol.

You're not the only one mate, i can assure you.

First, the mute/volume on button broke, then the round button failed and then the screen. I'm on iphone number 3 and it still plays up (throws me out of apps, goes real slow at times). 02 dont give a shit and expect me to keep paying the bill. i'm most likely getting rid of mine in january and changing providers as 02 are wank when it comes to customer care. Need my current phone replacing due to problems but i just cant be bothered as it would be another £25 to cough out when its not my fault.

I've had my iPhone for about a week and it handles the forum fine. I wouldn't boher buying an app for it.

I have kinda skipped most of this thread but I think it is possible to modify the CSS (page design) to suit both mobile web browsers and PC web browsers.

I agree I just use my safari it works just like on my laptop, can be a bit slow if you have not got grate signal but on wifi no probs.

If this idea were to go ahead you need to contact apple and they send you a piece of software to create the app. You then send it back to them and they examine it it, mainly to make sure it wont bring competion to anything they alrady do, they then put it up on the AppStore for sale.

Well if you don't have good signal won't really make a difference if its an app or if its through safari it'll still be slow. If your on 3G then its hard to tell the difference between browsing on my Mac at home.

edition38 have some kind of lofi version of their forum when i visit it on my blackberry, its pretty cool, loads really quick, and just shows what you need to see, filtering out all the bollocks (sigs, avatars etc)

I'm on my iPhone now and browsing the forum via safari and it seems pretty fast to me.
