Ok so most running bike carbs seem to be doing so on engines already with carbs and anyone running them on a 14 16v seems to be doing so in the older Polos.

What I want to know is can I use my standard 6N (1.4 8v) fuel pump to work with my carbs i.e just connect the fuel supply line to the carbs or will I have to fit a pressure regulator?

Also what pressure would it need to be?

yep I'm doing this with my gt, I'm just using the standard in-tank and in-line pumps and then a filter king pres reg.

3 psi, what carbs are u running?

GPZ 900 carbs. have you a link or make of what reg you are using?

just type filter king into ebay youll get plenty of results.

your mk4 fuel pump will be high pressure for your old injection setup, hence the need for a filter king, there will still be excess pressure in the system up till the pressure reg, and they arent my favoured way of working now.

i would just get a low pressure pump 2-2.5 psi solid state and mount it where your old pump was, plumb up the fuel lines, and pump the fuel around in a loop back to the tank, t-piece off the line for the carb input so carbs are just fed off the back pressure
