Engine: 1.4CL 8v with K&N air filter and cold air feed, Scorpion mid and back section exhaust.

Suspension: PhilJ Coilovers, wound all the way down front and rear.

Brakes: Standard

Wheels and Tyres: Standard

Exterior Styling: 6n2 Rear Lights, Removed Bump Strips, Rear De-wiperd, De badged front grill, pressed plates.

Interior Styling: Standard (Mint condition)

ICE and Security: Remote central locking, Fusion Head unit with ipod compatibility, SPL Dynamics 6.2 front speakers running from a 4x100wrms Inphase amp, 2x10" fusion powerplant subwoofers powered by DLS CA12 amp all ran from a DB audio wiring kit.

Plans: get a job then start sorting the bodywork out and find some suitable wheels :)

Then on went the pressed plates!

Thats all for now until i find a part time job around my college course

When i get hold of a 16v rear bumper il be doing something with the exhaust :)

Although I'm not sure they do a 16v polo in this colour so its gonna cost me a bit to get one sprayed up!

like it mate, got a soft spot for 6ns on standard steels, likes been said, not into your back box...but other wise! nicee

really like this mate, just for the love of god lose the exhaust!lol apart from that liking it! :)

Bit of an update, unfortunately not a good one.

Had a bit of a crash the other nite :(

so now I've got this..

Damage as follows:

Bent bonnet, smashed headlight, smashed grill and sorround, bumpers all smashed 2 and i think its the slam panel? has been bent in.

New plans are to source parts including an 8v front bumper and get it smoothed and put everything else back to how it was, once again i cant do anything right now due to my lack of job/money

Question time :)

Does anyone know if the slam panel ( i think it is ) can be changed easily or does it just have to be pulled out? luckily it hasnt touched my rad.

Havnt updated this thread in ages so its about time for one!

Since i had the little crash in my car i decided when my insurance ran out i would take the car off the road and get the bits sorted that i wanted doing, as i wasnt happy with all the dents/scratches and damage.

This involved getting a full respray including some smoothing and also getting a new set of wheels.

Since i couldnt realy afford to get the car resprayed on a part time job (student) i whent about doing the prep work myself, which has been a very long and slow process as i havnt done anything like this before.

So i started with the car damaged like this..

Then began removing the damaged body parts including bumper, slam panel, grill, grill sorround, bonnet and headlights.

I also sourced some new parts from a fellow clubpolo member, including everything i needed to replace the damaged parts with an 8v bumper which i originaly planned on smoothing.

Until i found a pair of 16v bumpers for pretty cheap with all grills included

which i then started smoothing myself - 2 upper grills, toeing point and no. plate recess

Ready for primer

Quick pic of all the rusty stonechips removed from the bonnet which was then etch primered

Also got some brand new fog lights with grills and a debadged grill from ebay.

Smoothed rear bumper

Cut the toe eye of and etch primered

Smoothed boot handle and emblem (the holes are to remove the bits that make the reg plate stick out, being welded soon)

Smoothed jacking points, lots of patches of etch primer covering repaired rust/bare metal

One of the doors nearly fully prepped

Also fitted a new set of coilovers myself as my old ones were pretty seized and rusty. These ones offer a 30-120mm drop.

I then whent on a journey with a friend to kent to pick up my new wheels!

RH Cups 14x8j+9j et35 all round

Gave one of the dishes a little polish to see how they would come up, was alot of work to get it like this so I'm sending them off to be fully polished

Due to the high offset i invested in some 15mm hubcentric spacers for the rear to clear various objects to allow the wheel to spin, i also used a 5mm spacer upfront to clear the brakes.

Which left me with a bit of poke!

I wasnt happy with the way the wheels sat with the current 225/40 tyres on so i invested in some fresh rubber! 195/45 all round.

Tyres awaiting fitting, also had just fitted some flush fit valves here.

Tyres whent on very easily, using a can of cheap hairspray

and this is how they sit on the car

Then decided to get my arches rolled and pulled a little because i want to be able to get pretty low, turned out to be a bad idea as one of my arches basicaly fell apart while they were being worked on. So now I've ordered a new arch and will get that welded in soon and then rolled again!

I've still got alot to do, but I'm getting there slowly.

love seeing pics like these...good job on the prep work mate, most people wouldnt smooth the front bumper like you did...plastic welded a full section in is good! The rear bumper has been done like mine, with a metal plate which is another nice touch!

Can't wait to see this in paint..

Thanks for all the positive comments, makes me want to get on with it more and get it done!

Should be getting my new arch delivered tomorow, and hopefully welded in next week along with all the other bits of welding that need doing.

Although I'm back to college next week so progress may slow down a little.

How do you get your back plate to stay on cause i have pressed ones and i am using the tape but they just keep coming off!

JordanBmx - I used some double sided sticky pads from morrisons, used about 4 each side and it was pretty well stuck on!
