Best way to check is use a gps/ satnav which will give you a more correct reading with your dash.

Is there any way to change/modify a speedo cos i know it will have got harder with all these electronics they have in cars these days but speedo's are different on different cars so could you maybe put a mini speedo in a polo with undersized wheels on? (just a thought)

Could just make your own clock inserts to suit... theres a how-to somewhere on here

A dial speedo is never going to be 100% accurate no matter how hard you try.

The reading won't only differ due to wheel size but also your seating position, the speedo sensor in the gearbox and the resistance of all the gismo's inside the speedo unit.

In my mk4 I cracked open the clocks and moved the needle slightly down as I did quite a heavy rolling radius reduction but this only changes the speed shown. The miles on the electronic unit still go up at the same rate.

To be honest I wouldn't worry too much about it.
