Shouldn't be I'd imagine.

If there are no laws about having chromed cars, I'm sure there will be a good chance that there will be no laws on glow in the dark wheels.

(If by luminous you mean glow in the dark.)

If you just been very brightly coloured, there's definitely not.

My luminous (glow in the dark) winters are getting rubbered up and slapped on on friday, so we'll find out soon. They're hardly inconspicuous so coppers will have me if theres a law but I very much doubt it.

If it was pulled for the wheels, they would have been removed.

i sorta knew the owner through a mate, maybe it did, i do not know but in old tesco car park police never asked or sayed anything bout them,

Why would they be?

If anything its safer as more people can see you...

But there a kinda light emitting thing :?, SO it could be seen as a danger to other road users as they could be sen as a distraction,

arnt neon lights illegal for the same reason?

A guy i know whos got a corsa c. he had some bright green astra wheels and the coppers told him off cos apparently they were distracting to other drivers.. i thought, so what about a bright green car... like the new rs, which is a standard colour but you no :/ coppers are nobs, I'm sure there is no penalty for them though

They may tell you off but I don't think they could actually do anything (fines or points)

Its not asif they are going to cause glare is it

Suppose not

maybee on a wet road ;)

I wonder what the police would say about a fully painted illuminous car. 8-)

does anybody actually know if its illegal? also where do you get the paint from ?

I got my paint from halfords but its bloody exspensive £5 for a 300ml bottle and your best to put lacquer on aswell. I got stopped last night for going a little bit sideways round a roundabout hehe and he didnt say anything about the alloys :)

ahh halfords ok :) must be cheaper somewhere else i was planning on doing it on the calipers ??

If it was pulled for the wheels, they would have been removed.

Not at all, they'd give you a warning to get them removed and place it on file with your car registration and if your seen caught with them again, you'll be asked to remove them on the spot (or in this case replace them) or given a small fine.

Believe me, I've seen and heard so many stories of it being done.

Do cyclists and motorcyclists get pulled for having luminous clothing? Do the DynoRod vans you see around get pulled for having luminous paintjobs? Why would it be illegal lol?

getting pulled for a bright car and bright wheels?

rediculous!

i got bright green satin paint car, and bright yellow centered wheels, used to be bright pink!

I think people are confusing luminous and fluorescent here.

luminous i know its a bike but you get the picture

glow-12-years.jpg

fluorescent is just brightly coloured

^^ thats what I'm on about, And there is glare on the ground :?

Bright colours dont emit light like the pic above, Same with fluorescentish,,

That would be classic! I'm inspired! Can't see a logical reason why there would be a problem with luminous wheels though, they won't be THAT bright to cause glare on a wet road..

There is a glow in the dark MR2

mrs_1.jpg

I got it from b&q, I've gone black now instead because it looks shite in daylight and only glows bright for an hour of so, after that it just looks like white wheels in the dark.
