Well i just went to attempt it and i can't get the main light unit off the plastic bit you screw intyo the car...

I've undone 2 adjuster screws all the way but there's a third one I can't get to!!

Anyone know what i need to do?

i baked mine with them on...seemed fine

Well i tried that and melted one a minute ago...

That was 10mins at gas mark 7.

DO NOT bake them with the carriers on. Get them off somehow! I'm going to cut this one off probably, dont need it as these lights are spares. Going to have to transfer them with the ones on the car atm which are both cracked anyway and how i can exchange the carriers easilly!

Was It Hard To Split Them?

I did mine with the carriers on

Strange. Only melted one side of the carrier, maybe i had it too close to the flame (gas oven).

Yeah its not easy to split them tbh. Heat them up, and very very carefully wiggle a screwdriver in the gaps between the glass and metal all the way round the lamp. I chipped a little bit off the drivers side one, but it didnt crack. Just a small chip off the ridge.

I'm now having real difficulty finding tape that wont rip the damn reflective layer off. Tried normal masking tape, then tried rubbing it on my jeans first to take the stick off, either still pulls the reflective stuff off or just doesnt stick at all. I even have modelling tape which i use on my illustrations (really soft expensive masking tape that doesnt affect special paper when you mask off sections) and even that is pulling the stuff off!

This is not as simple as i thought it would be. Definately do it on a spare set, not on the ones on your car! lol.

Just did mine and how worried was i lol.I just didnt want to break them but its all good.

In answer tho to getting the carriers off i used a long socket to push the prongs together and then gently pull and move onto the next one,The only one i have trouble with was the top side one coz you cant get to it.Gentle persuasion using a flat blade screwdriver did the trick.

Hop this helps a bit more as i see someone melted the carriers and also if you undo the screws you headlamp aim will be out and therefore an mot fail.

What happens with the 6n2. They have plastic lenses?

What do i need to do this...Spray paint make?

If your chrome is prone to peeling..

Mask up the area you're going to paint instead of the area you're not (after keying it with sandpaper/scotchbrite). Then spray or smear grease over the chrome. Then peel off the masking tape. Now you can paint the keyed area because the paint won't stick to the grease. Once the paint is dry, you can gently clean off the grease (one way is to replace the glass, then when cured fill the unit with soapy water and shake until clean).

anybody try to take apart indicators of 6n,and how he do it?becouse i fall it 2x .

Does anyone have pictures of how to take apart the 2f headlights. I know this is old post but just found it.
