A friend of mine had a rough idle in her Skoda Fabia today. Sounded almost as if the car was 'purring'. The revs sounded like they were going up and down. What could be the reason for this?

If its a 1.2 3cyl then the idle isnt that smooth anyway tbh mine goes between 748 and about 806 tends to get a bit better when its warm also might b worth checking the exhaust for holes as this will reduce your back pressure and could mess with the idle

What age and engine is it? IIRC a lot of the early ones hunt a bit on idle to keep the emissions low.
