mainly bits and bobs like first of going to slam it try and get hold of a 1.3 engine my do a checkerflaged bonnet but I'm not sure yet as alot of pepole are doing it now um any one no what mk1 gti golf wheels would look like on it? if i can get a quick response be gd thanks

It's all about the 4 Gears of Pure Doom lmfao! Nice purchase dude! You reckon you'll keep the 4speed if you 1.3 it or go to the 5speed? If and when I drop a 1.3 or whatever in mine that's one thing I haven't made my mind up on yet

  • Author

hey thanks um i did have a think about that and i decied to keep with the 4speed keep it oldschool and nippy then :-D

i personally think the chequered bonnet would look crap but do it if you want. Also a 1.3 won't see much improvement in power so i say wait and find a GT conversion if you definately plan on changing the engine at some point  nice car though mate, love a nice Mk2 Bready 8-)

Remember it's winter again so don't stack this one ;)

lol foleE trust me I'm not going to stack this its beein looked after :-D and i was thinkin of a gt conversion but wouldnt i have to do alot of work?

I don't really get why people do engine swaps, spesh on the mk2, if you want more power just save up and get a car thats designed to go like the proverbial shit.

lol, bring on the abuse....

thats a fair point i think it depends on the type of person and what ther into in what they do I've doen a few engine swaps now on some car I've had i just pefer that sleeper lookin pepole thinkin its a 1.0 when its not but normlay i would want to modife the engine alot before it goes in or it is kinda pointless even tho on my mk1 fiesta i was a 1.0l and i put a 1300 crossflow in it on a carb and cam and it went like a rocket beat my mates nova sr wich impressed me

sleeper look ftw, every car can be improved. looks like a good base, what engine plans u got for it

The sleeper look, ah-ha. But if you stick a whacking great lump in surely everything else esp. the running gear needs to be uprated, clutch, gearbox, brakes driveshafts, radiator. fuel pump, and then if you're gonna drive it fast you gotta try and eliminate the body flex and stuff. Just sounds like sooo much work. Although could be quite entertaining for a winter project..

nah i see wher you are comeing from it is alot of work most times its cheaper to buy a donner car and just swap evrything over but then its something to do i gess lol i enjoy doing stuff like that

and frybert i was going to try get hold of the 1.3 in a mk2 coupe s but i think i might go for a gt lump now wont be till march time when i start doing that lot to do at the moment just been on it today found out my steering rack is shot so thats next on the list

looks nice man! Be cool slammed with a gt lump! Funny people saying why doing engine conversion when can just get a fast car but where the fun in that! All ways good get hands dirty and have a lil nippy polo! You still going for 4speed with the gt lump? That be jokes if can work!
