e30s are pretty expensive for what they are imo to get one that isnt ropey you need to spend a fair bit

my mates e36 328i, thats 7secs to 60 and 192bhp 155mph - cost him £1100 on 104k and it has been mint

I got mine - 1985 323i, 68k 1 owner, black 2 door in top condition (just a couple small surface scratches and a spot of laquer peel) with full service history for £126 :-D yay! for ebizzle

The E30 is my favorite BMW model of all time.

The E36 doesnt look too bad but for the silly sculpturing low down,considerably heavier though.

Easy to do,considering I've not seen one for ages,but dont overlook the Compact. Same old rear suspension as the E30,tail-happy RWD handling,must have been better than a Golf..

i have to disagree there, best old skool bm has got to be the 2002, first tubo bm and looked the mutts nuts!

e30 3.5 not that quick??? My mates e30 with a 3.5 in was quicker than a 300bhp skyline over 1/4mile, and was an awesome skidder. Sounded savage too. Search YouTube for Mike Gaynor EDC Knockhill...

Uncle's got a 2002tii in his collection,but i much prefer the E30. Id have the estate shell if it was gonna be a 1602/2002 though.

i wouldn't drive it, just look at it! i missed out on one by 2 days - parked in a layby for two years finished in orange. i went round to knock on the door and he told me it was scrapped two days earlier.

E30's are ten a penny, i remember the 2.7 hartge tourer turbo me and my ex boss built, then the 325i M sport we fitted a 3.2evo e36 lump to, nice cars but still rather the 2002 personally.

Seriously! My e30 ran 14.3 on the quarter... launching in 2nd and spinning thru 3rd..

My old R32 ran 12.4 with just down pipes and exhaust, so around 320bhp, and skidded pretty well too.... oh I miss it so! Lol.

My old GT, with just a drilled and smoothed airbox, straight off exhaust (exhaust had fallen off :p) was pulling on my mates E30 320.

He was really supprised, as was I. I do like the shape of the E30's and an added bonus is that they are 4x100 too so can have an aray of wheels from the DUB scence onto them without many issues!

E36's are also amazing cars. Friends of mine have one as a track car and have so much fun in it. They say it handles really well around the track and is really well balanced.

Personally for me though, id have the E30 325i. Bit more poke than the 318 and 320, making it easier to control in a drift and not having to be on the limit in order to get it sideways. More manageable when sideways too :p

i genuinely thought a GT would be quicker 0-60 than my 318is e36, but raced my flatmates old modded GT from a set of lights and left him for dust. and left him behind even more from a rolling start

deceptively fast are zimmas, almost too easy to creep upto 110 on the motorway if its quiet as it just doesnt feel fast because they feel so planted and well balanced

tell me about it, il look at the speedo on the motorway and I'm doing next to 135mph, and i could fall asleep lol far to easy.

Just FFS dont ger a 320. And E36's are too heavy, and have a bad image!

The 2.0 six was a very short stroke and had little torque. As a result,it needed revs to shift,and the gutsier 2.5 was more economical on a sensible run.

Id have an E30 318iS in basic trim for fun but efficient balance,but the 2.8 lump would be tempting.

I've also been tempted to look into building an E36 350i coupe (or twelve carbs),but i dont do gas-guzzlers.

my mates got a 2.8 E36, 2 owners from new, bmw service history, leather trim, loads of toys and has been really well looked after its whole life. the last owner had had it since it was only a couple of years old was moving abroad and just wanted it to go to some one that was going to look after it blah blah... even though the last owner was a respectable looking doctor (not particularly young looking either apparently), when i adjusted his hand break for him we still found fag backy, tiny bits of green and a rolled up receipt that was the perfect size and shape for snorting coke

i have a 325 e30 bought it but it looked tired so decided to do a budget repray went to steves paints and bought some house gloss! cheapest they had! bought it with some standard thinners and mixed it 50/50

then got some other wheels,

ill be putting the wheels on ebay soon 16x9 azev d's 4x100

car is going for scrap i think as headgasket and waterpump has gone unless someone wants to buy a cheap drift car.

^^ That sounds ripe for a mint M30 "Smokebomber" conversion!! E30 335's imo are amazing!!! especially when coupled with a welded diff!

I once sent my Mum and Dad to look at a 316i for me, still wouldn't say no to a nice one :).

When it comes to best looking BM's, for me personally it's gotta be either the E28 5series or the E32 7Series! Came close to swapping my E36 for an E32 735i

Not sure if this is the E32 or the later version? All 7's are too big for my liking,though..

I've always had a soft spot for the E28,they dont make 'em like they used to..

Yeah that's an E32, a 750i Touring would be ace haha, with the 850CSi lump and 6 speed box

Yeah the CSi lump was an M-Power 5.7,that'd work quite well in the E28 i recon

The E30 3dr,E32 5dr and E28 5dr are real cars that were converted. All look great imo,working with the lines of the car.
