If its got seats and no seatbelts it will fail (depending on year) but no back seats insint a fail

As far as i'm aware if there's no back seats in there has to be no seatbelts in either otherwise it will fail.

Mine passed with only the drivers seat in but there were no other seat belts.

I assume it works the other way too.. ie if you have seats but no seatbelts its a fail too (clearly).

As has been said.. If there is a seat it needs a belt and if there is a belt it needs a seat. If it has neither then you are fine.

There is a cut off year where you could have seats but no rear belts but I think onl Mk1 polos would fall into this.

if u take you are back seats out you are seatbelts have to come out to for it to pass but then you are car is moted as a 2 seater wich u have to tell you are insurance compnay other wise it wil be void but then it goes down when u have only 2 seats wich is good

thanks guys, i have only got the 2 front seats in and only 2 front seatbelts, so it will pass on this then.

i think i told my insurance about the no backseats, will ring em and find out....

and i dont care about the indicators etc lol.....but thank you anyway =]

Almost wrong, you need at least a driver side mirror and either interiour mirror or passenger mirror. (for instance vans with a bulkhead !?!?!)

Why would it not be true, the facts are there, albeit not in the clearest form. MOT inspectors do miss things also, I know I probably wouldn't be looking for mirrors, I'd take it as a gibbon.

Because if you incorrectly test a car you can loose your test licence! (and take a serious pay cut)

My "duff" advice is personal exsperience of a selection of garages and cars including the garage i was working at helping with MOT tests.

Best bet with MOT questions is to ring or speak to the garage that will be testing it, as the guidelines are down to the tester interpritation.

Never knew about the mirrors on cars! On motorbikes all you need for an MOT legally is road legal tyres, a rear reflector and a constant sounding horn.

what year is that landrover ? like my beetle would go thru without any mirrors beacuse it never left the factory with them on its diffrent for dirffrent age cars

aslo did you no a car can go thru a mot with no fron windscreen as long as u have took of the wipers and motors washer bottels and jets :-D

Would love to put that to the test.

You can have White or Yellow headlights (both must be the same colour), sidelights can be any colour. No need for a reversing light either.

Dont need a spare, but if you do carry one it must be legal.

no u dont have to hav ea spare wheel in you are car for it to go thru the mot

yes u can take of you are passenger side mirror aslong as u have a driver side and rearview mirror as long as ther fitter as standerd

u can complety gut the rear end of the car out and it wil still go though a mot aslong as ther is not seatbelts and no seats

aslo they can fail you are car if its to loud exhuast wise i had my fiesta failed on exhuast louder than a car its age wich is silly it wasnt even loud
