MOT

things like indicators and mirrors depend on the age of the vehicle, if it's an old series one landy then it probably doesn't need to have any mirrors or indicators to pass. If it's anything post-1970ish then it'll at least need indicators, then post 1983ish it needs side repeators or wrap-round front indicators etc...

As for not needing indicators if you've also removed the indicator stalk from the car, I don't know where that's come from but it's not true.

You definitely don't need to have back seats though regardless of the age of the car or what it came fitted with from the factory.

As someone else said, it's all down to the tester's interpretation of the rules at the end of the day but they should stick to the general rules.

what year is that landrover ? like my beetle would go thru without any mirrors beacuse it never left the factory with them on its diffrent for dirffrent age cars

aslo did you no a car can go thru a mot with no fron windscreen as long as u have took of the wipers and motors washer bottels and jets :-D

Would love to put that to the test.

You can have White or Yellow headlights (both must be the same colour), sidelights can be any colour. No need for a reversing light either.

Dont need a spare, but if you do carry one it must be legal.

You'd have to pretty dick-headed to try that with a modern car as part of the rigidity of the shell is provided by the windscreen.

I'm pretty sure that the reason why old jeeps with fold-down windscreens and splitscreen campers with safari windows don't need washers/wipers is because you merely need a method of clearing your view if the view through the windscreen is obstructed - which in their case is just 'open the window'

The spare wheel is not part of the test. So if its there and flat or as bald as an egg it doesn't matter. :-)

Apart from if you remove/blank off all the lights, then you can have a daytime MOT., which permits use of the car in daylight only with appropriate arm signals.
