My Polo 1.4 2002 9N shakes in the whole car when driving over 40-50mph.

I have new tyres (Michelin), balanced wheels 2 times (no issue), new discs with new pads and full alignment. The car still shakes, is there a standard fault on my year model? What can this be?

Any wheels buckled? which ones did you have balanced?

Got spacers?

All four wheels are balanced. The guy in the shop said that everything is ok with the wheels other wise the balance machine would have shown that.

Could probably be that because when I driver over bums I hear skweeking sound from the suspension. But could that really make the whole car shake inc stearing wheel when driving straight?

I get allot of suspension squeaks from my 02 9n, nothing seems to be wrong tho, still handles like the boat i bought .

Best thing to do if its becoming a problem is go to a garage. Had a steering coil or something go, guy sat in the car and almost instantly told me it was a coil, did the same with a broken engine mount and both jobs were around the £50 mark :-D

jack the car and take the weight off the front wheels....

then see if there is any excessive play up down in the shocker...could be top mounts that are nackered.

Yeah, it will.

Track control arms especially, and BMWs have a habit of eating them.. dont know about your age Polo. If the rubber's disintegrated and its metal on metal then it'll shake you (and itself) to pieces...

May be something shock related though, get it in the air and have a check.

Swap a wheel front to back, if that doesn't help it, do the same on the other side.

Also - are your wheel studs tight?
