6n Rear Wiper Blade

Featured Replies

Tried a Bosh and a Champion one so far and I can't get the sodding things to fit! Does anyone know which blade I should be looking for as the two aforementioned both said they were supposed to fit the 6n but they're just too wide! (Wide as in they will clip on, but they won't fit flush due to not slipping neatly into the armature.)

And no, I do not want to remove the whole thing before anyone suggests doing so! :-D

Cheers.

i got one off ebay and it was about £8 and fits perfectly try there think it was a bosch or valeo?? i think i cant find the auction either so thats all i can say, or maybe you have a different wiper arm on it that slightly different

dude, do you mean the bit it clips in with basically doesn't seem to work?

if so.. i had the exact same problem with this.. its really simple but i cant for the life of me remember what you do!

you either unclip something that is usually used, or clip on an adaptor.

i will let you know when i go look at the car next!

You have put the right one on the right side yeh? IIRC they are left and right specific.

:? how many rear wipers have you got on your polo

i had to replace mine a couple of weeks ago, i went to vw and got it for about 6.50 including vat. I thought that was quite good as i was expecting to pay about £15!

It's difficult to explain. The armature on the rear isn't like on the front. You know on the front you've got the arm and then there's a loop on the end that you clip the blade onto? And you know when you buy a new blade you get a few adaptors? Well, the rear arm doesn't have a loop; it's got what looks like one of the adaptors you get in with a new blade, but it's all one piece. Not sure I've explained that correctly, but it's too dark to take a picture right now! Basically, the off the shelf blades will clip on, but when they're folded back they don't sit inside the arm. If that makes sense? The width of the inside of the arm is 12mm and the width of the new blade is also 12mm so they just knock against eachother. The old blade has a width of 9mm so it slots in nicely.

Glad you got there before me; thought I was having a blonde moment there!

Ah, well if it'll be that cheap I'll get in touch with the local dealership then. The Champion one from Motorworld was £5.99 anyway.

ahh i see.. (not really, I am totally confused lol)

i would defo get one from VW, they are surprisingly cheap coming from the main stealers and it will defo fit.

if you ask the parts guy nicely he'll probs show you what's what.. the guy in Cardiff VW did it for me when my one confused the hell outta me
