Haha! Few more updates coming soon hopefully! If I can afford them! My insurance has gone up to £1059 that's with an extra years no claims and a year older!!! Not best pleased! Paint and all my gear is ready for the splits just need to go get a calor gas Bottle to heat my unit! So they will dry nice in this weather! Maybe a new interior!!!

Well I have just put it through its mot! All it needed wa handbeake cables (already knew this and had them in!) a cv boot and a headlight bulb thats not plugged in properly! This will probably be the last for this car as I'm after a 6n2 gti or Ibiza cupra! new materials for my interior! Every time I went to finally purchase my fabrics they sold out or got chucked!!! So... I have some updates coming! I am booking some time off work to paint rims and wings (one rotten , one was victim of a hit n run!) maybe new seats!! Can't wait!

Shame, I really like this car :)

Keep it up!

Love the seats!

Which glue are you using to retrim the headlining? Make sure you use the right one as mine is sagging now like a wizards sleeve.

  • Author

Using trimfix proper spray adhesive, good to about 90*C

These bad boys should finally land tomorrow and have a day off! Will try get the passenger seats bases swapped over (valvers pass seat is height adjustable, cupra pass seat isn't!) an swap the rear bench backs over! Can wait I search long and hard for seats in as good (apparent) condition as these! Might not get any of the retrim done as it's my brother birthday, so I hope they come early!!

Be interested on how you retrim the seats. I really want to do mine but I cant sew on a button let alone retrim a seat!

  • Author

Oh no sorry bit misleading there I'm no retrimming th seats I'm doing the pillars an headliner!

Ok so I got chance to trim the a pillars today and fit these!

UBER COMFORT! so much of a difference to deteriorating valve seats! And th tilting headrests are brilliant!

Did you swap the bases in the end?

  • Author

Nah mate couldn't be arsed I will do soon tho probably experiment with the valver base to make sure I know how it comes off!

They look nice (Y)

Done my retrim today, went ok but think my headliner material is abit thin and the trim fix has come thru in places (hope it dries better!) dint get many pics as light was going but here's one!

Ah, Keighley bus station.

Are you thinking of taking the sub frame off or the actual part of the seat you sit on and then swapping covers?

If you just swapping the bases ill come do it for you. It's a piece of piss mate. You can't go wrong :) car is looking good man. Have to have a gander sometime.

I'm gonna have a go when i get some spare time but still got so much to do; spray and rebuild bbs, spray 2 new wings (one rotten) thanks to some idiot in winter that thought it was ok to hit n run, then just pimp hard n save up for 6k2 ibiza (cupra hopefully) some 17x8 rotiform BLQs n a nice drop!

Drilled my 2 dishes out to accept all the same valves (had 2 different sized holes!) Got the valves to polish, centre rings are being polished! Then need to rebuff the dishes and build and seal! Then that's it for these! Dunno weather to sell them and put money towards a beefa or put them on for summer!

  • Author

Well tried one on for size now they've hardened off abit! Still gotta put centre polished rings

On and actually build them!

Then I notice this! Was gutted! Been stored in a "dry" container

At my unit for winter and they were perfect when put away! :'(
