Quinn Insurance

Featured Replies

Is anyone with Quinn? If so how long did It take for your documents to arrive in the post? They told me they were sent out Wednesday and I've still received nothing from them, asked them to fax them also, and have nothing from them.

I've just got off the phone from them and they said the fax went through yesterday, and today, yet I've got nothing from them?

I need the documents to tax my fucking car! Why can't they email the policy documents to you like everyother company does!?! pricks.

Yeah i am it took about a week for papers to arrive, in the mean time use your reference no. for the quote (cos this is now your policy no.)

how much are you paying if you don't mind my asking?

  • Author

Eh? Use my reference number for what? I need the documents to tax my car, I bought the insurance on Wednesday.

Paying £740 TPFT, 21, 15k a year, alloys and suspension declared, windscreen cover, breakdown cover, legal assistance, just passed test, 0NCB on a 1999 1.6CL polo.

iam with quinn it took then like 3weeks to sort out my paper work tho then when i got the paper work it was the total wrong car was a q reg!!!! all in all it was about a month to get sorted! but they are cheap like iam paying 800quid for a 6n thats with 4yrs of NO no claims

740 s not bad going for first year's insurance, my first year cost about £1800!

If you used a price comparison website then your quote would have a reference no. attatched to it- Mine starts GED/QMP.... then lots of numbers.

Also they said to me to only declare the mods that made the car go faster, so angel eyes alloys etc were no worries

Yes, I have a reference number as I said before, but what relevance does that have to this thread in anyway at all? lol?

Thats your policy no. and proof of insurance, keep that somewhere handy at all times

  • Author

Yes, I know that, but it still doesn't have any relevance to the thread lol! I can't use it to tax my car can I!!!!! Thats what I need a cover note for, unless anyone wants to photoshop my name onto theirs for me lol

Do it online, it should be on the national insurance database by now

  • Author

Nope. Can't by phone either. Fax just came through lol, so i'll get it taxed tomorrow!

yeh pretty sure they ask for your insurance ref no. when you tax you are motor online. use the ref no. for that and you should get you are tax. also keep a note of it on you so when your driving and if you get stopped you at least have proof that you are waiting for your documentation to come through :)

Kuszpit :)

I started writing my comment then had to nip away from my computer then came back and continued but in that time you left you are comment but i then left mine not knowing u had replied...

Kuszpit :)

firstly when i got involved with quinn the sent documents out and i got them in about 5 days secondly even if u tax you are car online u cant drive it before the disc comes as its against the law to display an out of date tax disc or no tax disc at all... it even says on the back of you are tax renewal form something like "if you are taxing online please ensure enough time for your tax disc to arrive blah blah blah" on saying that however i lost my tax disc down the front of my dashboard and didnt realise for about a week and nothing happened to me :\

I'm not fussed about not displaying tax, I just don't want to be done by any ANPR shit. Can't tax it online anyway as said. Got a fax of my insurance documents through, so gonna try at the post office in the morning.

happy days for u mate =]

I've had similar problem, just got ins the other day, tried to tax it online and 'puter said no (it takes up to 14 days to get on after taking out a new

policy). You need the car reg and ref no of your v5 iirc. The girl at adrian flux said check http://www.askmid.com or co.uk can't remember and

that'll tell you whether your on MID. I checked this morn and i was on then I got tax online, I've been driving about all day with a disc that expired in

may. No problemo. If the police stop you it's down to discretion whether they issue a fine for 'not displaying' from what i've heard. If you manage to

get tax online ANPR won't touch you.

Oh BTW post office don't accept facsimilies you'll need to persuade them that it's original documentation sent from the company, I tried it when I

taxed the bike and they were well iffy but ins company said the document was kosher so just basically lie and saw the ins company sent it to you

instead of you printing it out.

No.

You are allowed to drive the car when waiting for your new tax disc as long as it was bought before the current disc ran out. It says THAT on the back of the form.

Yeah I've realised, just a case of me persuading the post office that it's the real document, even though it looks well sketchy lol. Looks like it was made on a typewriter!

Got it taxed now :D

Went post office, they said it's a photocopy or fax, I denied it, and said it was what was sent through the post to me. The woman contested it, so I said ring them then...then she gave me tax. Told me to get the proper documents off the insurance company though (in the post).
